We need to talk about Bill 9, Bill 9 and Bill C-9.

Somehow, they’re ALL awful — and they all infringe on the freedoms of Canadians, from trans Canadians, to visibly religious Canadians, to Canadians protesting genocide.

Can we agree: no more Bill 9s until we figure out what the hell is going on?

It’s unclear why the prices differ, but a new notice on Target’s website offers a potential hint: “This price was set by an algorithm using your personal data.”
Your Data Might Determine How Much You Pay for Eggs
A newly enacted New York law requires retailers to say whether your data influences the price of basic goods like a dozen eggs or toilet paper, but not how.

Timely article about what happens when decisions on scientific topics are reserved for non-scientists. Skyrocketing rates of prostate cancer diagnosed too late to be curable.

Sketchy tactics to claim *having expertise* is a conflict of interest - yet personal responsibility for past errors isn't?

The best way to navigate this is to BUILD AN ACCESSIBLE WORLD. This kills me, and in many/most situations isn't that hard, it shifts the burden of effort where it belongs (on institutions, away from people), and THERE IS NOT CHEATING.
The world just works for more people.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

MeidasTouch releasing a video claiming Trump attacked them & then not once in the 16 min vid is there a single piece of evidence he attacked them makes the channel just as disingenuous as right wing media. Crying victim when you aren’t weakens credibility. Doesn’t help bring people back from MAGA ..

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?

The Poilievre Conservatives are attacking Canada's longstanding tradition of multilateralism and global engagement.
They claim its Liberal "racism."
They would leave Canada weak and alone in the face of trump and putin.
My latest.

The Conservative "Multiverse" Attack on Canada
At a time when global instability is rising, you would think that it would be patently obvious that Canada’s longstanding tradition of international engagement matters more than ever.

From 2018-2024, Delta paid a NEGATIVE FIVE PERCENT TAX RATE

That’s right, we gave one of the most profitable airlines in the world a $375 MILLION refund.

It’s not that the rest of us aren’t “working hard enough,” it’s that the system is rigged to favor the wealthy.

Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

Don't look up!
