My brain used the extra hour of night to play a vivid dream of major ADHD fails at big-deal work and social obligations, so that I could wake up before sunrise all wound up and stressed out.

We are in a timeline in which People Magazine is publishing legit hard-hitting news headlines while CBS and CNN publicly humiliate themselves.
I don’t like this timeline. But I’m loving People Magazine right now.

I’m somehow on a Bluesky list purportedly of Charlie Kirk apologists. A reminder to be careful about choosing block lists. If you’re trusting someone to vet at scale for you, make sure you’ve vetted them.

Just a quick PSA that you have no reasonable expectation of privacy in your public movements. This is why law enforcement can follow YOU or photograph YOU in public without reasonable suspicion or probable cause. Law enforcement doesn’t get “extra” protection in that regard. Goose/gander etc.
Because he’s doing his job…reporting. Because we still live in a free country with a First Amendment and a free press.

This is the asymmetry in our politics and media. If this was the other way around, Biden had pardoned someone then charged with trying to kill Trump, it would be the biggest story in America and every Republican commentator, congressman, news outlet, would be screaming about it in unison.

Adam Driver’s performance as Kylo Ren was one of the biggest redeeming factors of the Abrams trilogy, and I’d have happily gone along with Disney retconning anything about Rise of Skywalker they liked to see a Soderbergh and Driver-led film.
whelp, I’ll be thinking about the Steven Soderbergh movie about Ben Solo until the day I die, I guess. we could’ve had it all.

Not to discourage MW from fighting the good fight, but it seems like “butt naked” is now well established in its own right.
Not to be THAT dictionary, but…
It’s ‘per se,’ not ‘per say.’
It’s ‘dog-eat-dog world,’ not ‘doggy-dog world.’
It’s ‘hunger pangs,’ not ‘hunger pains.’
It’s ‘one and the same,’ not ‘one in the same.’

I once owned a ‘74 Datsun 240Z for a week. Just $1,300 (in 30-year-ago dollars). I didn’t realize until getting it home that besides being generally the kind of Z car you’d expect for $1,300, it had a bafflingly dumb intake mod that made it unregistrable in California.
For a history of potential bad ideas I have only just managed to scrape myself away from - all for sale nearby and I could have afforded (in the beginning anyway); a rat rod delorean, a 1976 Lincoln continental, a Sinclair C5 and half of a 1966 mustang coupe.
Regretting not snapping up the C5 tbh.

I think I’m going deeper into my petrolhead phase.
I fear this and might come out the other side with registered but slightly damaged Dodge Viper if I play my cards right.
Or very very wrong.

Got my flu and Covid vaccines this week in an easy pop-up event at work. I’m proud that Washington is one of the states making sure we can get vaccines, in spite of RFK Jr and his lethally stupid crew.

The fourth bleet in this thread is heartbreaking.
Thinking about the early closeted days as a teenager and a memory I hadn't thought about for ages popped in my head.
As a teen I was DEEP in the Experimentation->Shame->Repression->Repeat cycle that lasted until I came out at 28 and one way I experimented was sneaking make up from my stepmother

We aren't on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We are in the middle of it.
But I worry people don't see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage. So I went to the Senate floor to explain Trump's plan.
Here's a 🧵of the speech. It's important.

Taking umbrage at one’s integrity being questioned remains an excellent indicator of questionable integrity.
Bondi to Blumenthal: "You lied. How dare you? I'm a career prosecutor. Don't you ever challenge my integrity. Do not question my ability to be fair and impartial."

I’m no fan of Newsom, but this is the right response. We are increasingly in actively resist or be complicit territory.
