If it's cheap to build, #Ontario will never adopt it because the kickbacks for Doug Ford's cronies will be too small.
#Montreal 's just leap-frogged other cities in North America by opening the REM.

Automated. Electric. Frequent (2.5 minute headways). Fast (100 km/h plus). Cheap to build. (One tenth the price of other systems)

And really fun to ride...

I grew up with a family rumour about Indigenous ancestry. As a young adult, I checked it out with genealogical research and DNA testing. I am not Indigenous. Neither, it turns out, is Thomas King.

The worst part of this is the Vancouver festival and the Edmonton Opera cancelling Thomas King. Either his work is worth presenting or it's not; it shouldn't depend on his ethnicity. Let's hope people keep reading Green Grass, Running Water.

On CBC, I talk about Jeffrey Epstein, the CIA and Mossad, referencing the excellent reporting at @dropsitenews.com -- yet it remains impossible to get mainstream USA media to discuss this evidence.

Head of the Rhodes Trust is not a job with power or influence. It tends to be held by the vaguely eminent and semi-retired. This is a big step down for Freeland.

Efraín Kristal (1959-2025) is gone. He asked us all to memorize poems as a precondition for studying Rubén Darío together. Por eso puedo pensar esta noche en la palabra que huye, y en la barca del sueño que en el espacio boga.

The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.
