Remember that movie Civil War? That was criticized for being “apolitical”? A third-term president demolishing political norms, institutions and political enemies, I wonder where they got that idea

Sean Duffy’s flying civility campaign is wrong in so many ways. Starting with: Do you not have better things to do with your time? But also, maybe the airlines had something to do with it? www.latimes.com/california/s...
Trump's transit chief longs for 'golden age' of flying. Banning sweats won't cut it, experts say
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy urged airline passengers to dress nicely and mind their manners ahead of the year’s busiest travel week.

Just curious, if the Supreme Court somehow banned partisan gerrymandering tomorrow and every state had to redraw maps on that basis, which party would come out ahead?
They wouldn't be doing this if Prop 50 hadnt passed.

The other day I asked about State support for transit operating costs. One of my colleagues did the work (at least for a few non-CA peers). This is interesting for a few reasons, but bottom line, California state government doesn't seem to contribute much to local transit operations.

Big news: House GOP head of transport committee says he wants to retain the mass transit fund, defying the Trump Admin’s proposal, which I detail below ⬇️

subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2025...
Trump Administration is to propose a massive cut in federal transit funding as part of 2026 transport legislation.

This proposal would decimate the nation's transit systems, while not actually solving the revenue problem federal transportation funding faces.

Cutting Federal Transit Funding Won’t Fix Budget Shortfalls. But It Would Make Transportation Less Affordable for Americans.
A proposal to eliminate federal public transit funding would not only fail to address the existing funding gap but would also leave millions of Americans, pa…

I see we’re talking about platform screen doors today. Full-height doors are good for noise reduction and climate control in underground stations (if you need that), but they’re also more expensive. When in doubt, be like Japan www.japantimes.co.jp/wp-content/u...

Apple broke my phone. Took it in to replace the battery, when I pick up they go, oh, your charging port is loose and therefore we can't replace the battery -- and to replace the charging port will cost $340 instead of $70 for the battery alone. And guess what? All of a sudden, it won't charge!

7am update: so far there have been minimal service impacts to riders coming to and from the Berryessa direction. We have been able to dispatch Green line trains from other areas. We are messaging “limited service on the Green line” in case we run into a problem.
