This isn't fascism, by the way. This is just imperialism at home. Ask anybody and they hate what is happening. Is that fascism? Is that brother stringing up brother, for glory? The threats from AI are the same as the threats from capitalism, namely that unaccountable owners and billionaires will use it to erode labor rights and flood the zone with propaganda, not that somehow ChatGPT will become self-aware or replace all white collar jobs in the next 18 months. Be real
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.
