111/NHS direct is a joke. Having to misgender yourself to the people there for no reason is outright humiliating. It's designed to put trans people off reaching out for healthcare support.

There were years of surveys that worked on finding respectful ways to gather this information, disregarded.

So I (M27) live in a shared flat with my best friend (also M27). He's been dating this incredible girl (F26) for about a year - smart, funny, brings wine and snacks when she visits, 10/10 overall.

Then, out of nowhere, my genius of a flatmate starts catching feelings for someone else. Nothing physical happened (yet), but emotionally? Oh, he was deep in it. He comes to me all confused like "Bro, what do I do?" and I tell him straight:

"She's the best you've had in years, and you'd be an idiot to throw that away for a crush."

He nods. He agrees. Says he won't do anything dumb. Fast forward a couple weeks: his girlfriend's Spidey-sense kicks in. She calls me asking if something's off. I panic. I lie.

"Nah, he's just stressed about work. Everything's fine." Then I immediately call him like, "Dude, she know

And here's the kicker: she grills me in front of him, like I'm the villain in this love triangle.

"You LIED to me to protect him."

She storms out an hour later after more shouting, leaves her stuff behind. A day later she asks my girlfriend (MVP in all this) to pick up her things. My flatmate decides to pack the bag himself.

Big mistake. Drumroll please.....

She opens the bag and it's like Pandora's box of dumbassery: earrings, a tong, and old t-shirt, some random bracelet. None of it hers except the earrings. LMFAO. All apparently from the other girl(s?) my flatmate was "not really" seeing.

So now she thinks he 100% cheated, packed up his side chick's stuff, and handed it to her as a parting gift. She calls my girlfriend in tears. My girlfriend's pissed. I'm pissed. We're all pissed.

My flatmate? Still confused.

Reddit, what do I do? I'm stuck living with this idiot. His ex

hates me more than she hates him. My girlfriend's questioning my judgment. And all I did was try to help
