Not to be that guy but the democrats should have had the foresight to see this coming when Obama did this exact same thing (including to US citizens!) and they did nothing. It’s not as if they weren’t warned by the ACLU and many others! Bipartisan “war on terror” foolishness delivered this.

My lukewarm-at-best take is that Rey is hypercompetent but not to an unusual degree for an action movie hero and also that there’s quite a bit of precedent in Star Wars for “being Strong in the Force makes you good at everything by default“

based on my experience of observed behavior, the issue is not actually people being racist to AI chatbots, but people who are very clearly just excited they get to be racist to something. do I think everyone who says "clanker" or whatever is real life racist? no, obviously not!
