This is a superb idea. I bet Sotomayor (or KBJ or Kagan) would love to do the honors on the steps out front. Let them try to say a SCOTUS isn’t authorized to swear someone in. We all know she won the election, so Mikey’s got no argument that doesn’t look ridiculous. It’s time to push the issue.
Dems need to stop playing by House customs which have been abused by the Republican majority. Get a federal judge to swear you in on the Capitol steps with all of your House Dem colleagues and the cameras rolling. Make it a statement that Dems are in DC and ready to work for the people. Be bold!

She’s saying that, understandably, the students are doing super poorly!

It's true there is nothing like Mount Hood gypsum, but for me, I gotta go with Hardware Hank's rosemary-infused wallboards. Best drywall around. Problem is that you can only get it at the framers market at Elizabeth Caruthers Park on Thursday afternoons.

the hardest part of living in Portland is having your house burn down every single night and then having to rebuild it during the day. the amount of money i spend just in drywall is insane.
Trump: Portland is burning to the ground—insurrectionists all over the place. The politicians are afraid for their lives. That’s the only reason they say there’s nothing happening.

Finally!!! This is great news. Now I don’t have to cross state lines and pay out of pocket!
Updated with news from the Oregon Board of Pharmacy; just aligned its COVID-19 vaccine guidance with West Coast alliance, allowing those ages 7 years or older to receive from a pharmacist. Trying to get some clarity on under 7, might need Kotek for that. Rule awaits filing by today or early tmrw.
The nation’s four West Coast states on Wednesday recommended that all adults and children concerned about the respiratory season can receive the COVID-19 vaccine and other common inoculations.

Nothing is progressing in a normal or predictable way and there’s a major meeting of the advisors on national vaccine policy this week.

I would put getting a flu and COVID vaccine at the top of your to-do list.

Several states have issued orders so that COVID vaccines will be widely available even if the CDC decides to further restrict access this week.

However the majority of states have not taken any action to protect COVID vaccines access. Please call your Governor’s office!
UPDATE: At least 19 states have issued orders to protect COVID vaccine access including AZ, CO, CT, DE, IL, KY, MA, MD, ME, MN, NC, NV, NJ, NM, NY, PA, RI, VA, WA.

Almost all orders allow pharmacies to give vaccines without a prescription, some states have taken steps to ensure insurance coverage.

This is my concern too. Trying to weigh my options:
-wait for novavax
-wait for my pcp to write Rx
-wait for my state to waive the Rx barrier
Vs.
-head across state line, get whatever shot I can get and pay myself b4 it’s too late
-fight insurance reimbursement later

This sucks. We can do better.
OK folks. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is meeting on Friday to discuss Covid vaccines. If it is possible, I do recommend getting a Covid vaccine before then. I know due to out of pocket costs and prescription requirements in some states it is easier said then done.

I have asked my PCP for a prescription, and have been told that they aren’t writing them right now as they are waiting on further guidance.
Going across the state line to Wa means I have to pay out of pocket for something that should be covered.

This is a ridiculous mess.
The west coast model might be good eventually, but as of right now, folks in Oregon are crossing into Washington to get vaccinated (myself included). When I went Thursday the pharmacist in Vancouver, WA told me some Oregonians are traveling 2 hrs (each way) to see them.
