Green Women's Declaration, a gender critical group in the Green Party which campaigns for single-sex spaces (& which has been labelled transphobic by some members) was denied a stall at Green Party conference, a couple of days before it began. They're leafletting outside instead. Email from Green HQ

Dear Green Women’s Declaration

I write further to our exchanges regarding your request to book a stall at Green Party autumn conference 2025 and our subsequent correspondence, including your letter of 17 September, in which you declined to sign the stallholder agreement which set out the expected standards of conduct. We note that no payment has yet been made.

The Party’s Executive Committee has considered feedback from concerned members about the possibility of GWD attending, who described the hostile and demeaning encounters they have had with GWD in the past (including at previous conference). They also noted the confrontational and derogatory ways in which some of GWD’s leaders and supporters have campaigned on issues of sex and gender identity, including online. The view taken is that there is a real likelihood that GWD would behave in a similar way at conference this year, and that in any event their presence would deter other members from attending and so would inhibit our ability to run an effective, inclusive event.

So, having considered the matter further, the conclusion reached was that the Party cannot allow GWD to have a stall at conference this year. A stall at conference represents a significant platform and as a political party we are entitled to exercise our discretion over who is granted such access.

We appreciate this will be disappointing news but would be grateful if you would confirm receipt of this email.
