I transcribed a diary of an Alexandria woman who had nothing positive to say about the Rev War generation of men. The context was how they’d denied her the education she wanted. Her words are harsh. I wonder how many other women felt the same, but we only ever hear Abigail’s voice.

I saw W Kamau Bell say on Subway Takes that every New Yorker should have to spent two weeks every year in the South, and honestly, no. Rural Southerners should spent two weeks in NYC. If they’re nice, they can do a week here and a week in some Ben and Jerry’s ass part of Vermont in the summer
We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

Yeah, I was thinking this yesterday. There was so much emphasis on ensuring that non-urban people didn't feel looked down upon that there wasn't a defense of cities as a place to live. One in 27 Americans lives in the LA metro area! Nearly twice as many as Indiana!

Dear Hollywood,

PLEASE make a movie in which Jason Statham fights ICE.

According to the car wash owner, agents arrested employees before they could obtain their documentation from their work lockers. So many were likely here legally.

Here's hoping this article on Zac boasting about how he ruined some immigrants' lives follows him around for a very long time.

And I know things like this are happening around the country. But we can’t become numb to the horror and profound injustice of it. We can’t.

We can’t become numb to the violence of our government. We can’t.

If we become numb to their inhumanity, we risk our humanity too. 5/5

This is insane.

Mike Johnson still refuses to swear her in.

(also why reporters keep showing up and asking him questions like that's not the case when he won't answer any of them anyway)
