I read Nick Harkaway's Gone Away World some time in college and learned the line between Literary Fiction and Genre Fiction was totally made up and writing can be anything you want. It sent my love of stories into overdrive and it hasn't slowed down since.

I read Nick Harkaway's Gone Away World some time in college and learned the line between Literary Fiction and Genre Fiction was totally made up and writing can be anything you want. It sent my love of stories into overdrive and it hasn't slowed down since.

There are so many instances of this weird thing where people just project a meaning and "ideal version" onto a movie and then when the movie does anything else they get mad about it and sometimes even make up fake versions of the movie to be mad at! it's WILD
It's become this thing online where people claim Abuela never apologizes to Mirabel or the family in Encanto and I need you all to stop projecting your childhood trauma onto this movie because Abuela does apologize specifically to Mirabel and then later to the family.
