As Twitter's new geolocation tool started to reveal accounts’ information, the effect was like watching the Scooby Doo kids pull one disguise after another from the villain of the week.

Hilarious and alarming though it all was, it's just the latest indication of one of the site’s oldest problems.
Twitter's foreign influence problem is nothing new
The platform's just-debuted geolocation tool illuminates a disturbing and persistent issue.

On the same weekend that Carol Becker was concern trolling on the lack of diversity in local politics, she was using one of her several reddit accounts to defend a claim (made by Becka Thompson) that white candidates are disadvantaged because council members of color win based on their race.

Why are we still getting sanewashing coverage of POTUS?

Is there any credible journalist who believes this man is mentally fit to be President?

Trump on AI: "You can't go through 50 states. You have to get one approval. 50 is a disaster. Because you'll have one woke state and you'll have to do all woke. You'll be back in the woke business. We don't have woke anymore in this country. It's virtually illegal. You'll have a couple of wokesters"

America, including Minneapolis-St.Paul, is openly hostile to artists and art. You don't even need to talk to someone from Europe, just look at the numbers and what gets financial support and recognition.

If this were a mistake it wouldn’t have happened 78 times; it’s the core function of news media
Since January 2023, the New York Times has cited Rep. Ralph Norman, R-SC, in 78 stories. None mentioned that Norman secretly urged the Trump White House in 2021 to declare martial law – in effect, a military-backed coup. Norman wasn’t charged, but the NYT gave him a “pardon” anyway.
