We are the Nova Scotia Museum. What began as one museum of science and history in 1868 is today, a family of 28 sites & over one million artifacts & specimens, across Nova Scotia.

We have seven sites that are open year-round.

This is a major loss for the game development industry in Nova Scotia and another hostile act against workers by large corporations

Ubisoft Halifax was probably the largest studio in the province, and now 71 people are out of work. Perhaps some smaller independent studios can emerge from this

Tim Houston is now running "illegal cannabis" awareness ads to follow up his embarrassing crackdown from a few weeks ago. Noticeably no mention of fentanyl, after the RCMP didn't back up his claim b/c there was no proof. Why are we spending our tax $ on this drivel?

The Trump administration is actively censoring what is shown by the media. It won't stop here; they will continue to sanitize their heinous crimes and cosplay as a competent government behind a facade of smug contempt for the public. They think they can get away with this.

It's simple politics. Say 6 different contradictory things. People will only hear the one they agree with and think that the politician is going to do what they want them to do.

Politician of course does nothing, but brags about solving issue. People believe the issue is solved the way they wanted

Right wing governments across the world are copying the playbook that Putin and Trump have demonstrated to be demonstrably effective and incredibly difficult to fight

By the time you've looked into a handful of the daily rhetoric, there are a dozen new things the world has moved onto
I think this whole "flood the zone" with propaganda to make people angry and distracted is continuing to work.

Since taking office, Houston’s government has spent roughly $2.5 billion on highways. In 2026-2027 they plan to spend another $465 million.

I wonder why we have such a high deficit guys? Any ideas?

More people should provide updates on the winter condition of major bike routes on their commute like this.

I’ve always thought this was a cool community service.

PoW: Slush patches (50% width)
Rideau Canal Eastern Path: Thin packed snow
Hog's Back: Slush patches (below 50% width)

Over 40% of corn grown in Indiana is used to make ethanol that cars burn. One acre of corn yields about 16,500 vehicle-miles per year of ethanol, which sounds high until you realize that one acre of solar yields about 2,700,000 vehicle-miles per year: 16,000% more driving for a given plot of land.

Wow! Montreal’s public bike share system (BIXI) was featured in the TIME Best Inventions Hall of Fame for 2008, not far from the iPhone and Google Street View.

While not the very first bike sharing system, it was one of the earliest and it was the model for many other systems, from NYC to London.
