That's it, the US political institutions have fallen. This is an official White House press release, announcing their fascist overthrow of the country

They are creating an indeterminable "other" that they can use to arrest and detain whoever they want. There is no centralized Antifa organization...

Over 40% of corn grown in Indiana is used to make ethanol that cars burn. One acre of corn yields about 16,500 vehicle-miles per year of ethanol, which sounds high until you realize that one acre of solar yields about 2,700,000 vehicle-miles per year: 16,000% more driving for a given plot of land.

Colour burst along the Sackville River, Nova Scotia.
A bright blue sky and vibrant fall foliage in oranges, yellows, greens, and reds are reflected in a shallow river. Scattered leaves and rocks are visible in the front of the photo.

I swear to God bike people, you do you and I support building better bike infrastructure and all that but every time I post about how the transit system is enfuckulated someone tells me to start biking and just... stop

I know bikes exist

Trust that I have my reasons for not biking to work

The return to office policies are stupid. I work from home 24/7 (as does my whole team) doing high security software development, and we are incredibly productive

It's all just control by management to make themselves feel important, when they actually do nothing

Timmy thinks this way too

Sounds like it was an exciting game, I haven't played much since release; but I'm excited to try the new updates

Could be the leader + civ combo, some pairings are very war focused and will just attack anyone nearby. Who was it?
tcmdev.ca
I would suggest starting with 1-2 scouts and then 1-2 warriors. From there you can find good settlement locations and natural defenses like mountains and coastal

Have you played previous civ games? In 7 if you are way ahead, the AI will try to gang up on you, especially on higher difficulties. If you can make alliances, that helps protect against it

Good luck getting home today #Halifax

My wife has been stuck in traffic for 30 mins in the South End already and has only moved a couple blocks

This is the car centric hellscape that Houston and Friends wants

Wow! Montreal’s public bike share system (BIXI) was featured in the TIME Best Inventions Hall of Fame for 2008, not far from the iPhone and Google Street View.

While not the very first bike sharing system, it was one of the earliest and it was the model for many other systems, from NYC to London.

Yeah the buses are suffering too. They are getting bottlenecked severely

Today might have just been the tipping point for my wife considering biking as a real option! She hasn't biked since she was a child and had a really bad crash

We're going to go somewhere calm and open so she can practice before hitting the roads

Reliability and frequency is more important than anything else. If people don't need to worry about when the bus will come, or if the bus will come, then they will use it. Especially if it gets them to their destination on time

They won't use it if it makes them late b/c the only bus never came

The #1 piece of advice that TransLink's CEO offers other North American transit agencies:

Provide frequent service

It might also be the most "bang for your buck" rail project in all of Canada. If you look at the half dozen times we've already studied it, we'd only need to extend some of the sidings and build the actual stations. It's already grade separated and has most of the infrastructure in place already

I hadn’t used the Transit app in a long time since I rarely take the bus in Halifax anymore, but it’s added more sustainable transportation options for our city, including directions for walking, biking, Bird micromobility and Communauto Flex in addition to taking the bus or ferry.

P.S what a great photo of PP, really captures his smug incompetence

Carney is the right guy for the job right now. When his mandate is up, maybe there will be a better candidate; but otherwise it's anything but PP

It’s a full house at the town hall tonight in District 8 with Mayor Andy Fillmore and Coun. Virginia Hinch. #Halifax
A large crowd is packed into a small room at a community centre with a Black woman and a white man at a table in the front.

I'm curious to how my district will respond to Fillmore. They won't go easy on him IMHO

Can't wait to read about this Suzanne
