This was inspired by watching hummingbirds at dawn during fall migration. Pale lilac sky + the colors of the birds. It’s like a flight tracker of the paths from trees to feeder & all over the neighborhood. Magnificent.

Fused glass pendant
#fusedglass #glassart
Round fused glass pendant with silver plated bail and orange cord, about 4.1cm or 1 5/8"in diameter, nestled among green leaves of a plant. Base of the pendant is a round piece of white opalescent (non-transparent) glass. the base is covered by small glass spheres of various sizes (up to 1/4") which have been partially fused to the base (and should remind you of raindrops on leaves and flowers after the rain). Spheres in the center are clear, but there are transparent yellow spheres close to the bail, opalescent sunflower yellow ones along bottom left edge, and transparent pink along bottom right edge of the pendant. Border between colorful and clear spheres is made of spheres which have one half clear and the other is in yellow or pink. These spheres are arranged so that there is a clear demarcation line between area in color and area in clear glass so that areas in color have a shape of petals. I am sorry that this is such a clunky explanation.

Old Kraftsman Wood Amplifying
The Old Kraftsman Wood Amplifying (also sold as a Kay) is a resonator guitar that has its resonator made out of wood, not aluminum. There's a large hole in the guitar that's covered by a circular spruce plate. Vibrations from the bridge come through the cover plate and vibrate another disc inside the guitar. This disc has a hole in it that focuses the sound even more. This focused sound gets redirected out of the oval-shaped soundholes by the neck.

I experimented with two contrasting glazes on this wheel-thrown raku-fired vase: an iridescent metallic blue with flashes of red-violet on the body, and a shiny white crackle on the wide rim and interior.

Here is my really lame very 1st attempt at stained glass. I didn't have a pattern, I had a cheap glass cutter, so I just cut pieces and tried to fit them together somehow. 😆 No finishing edge. No classes either.

A stained glass piece made of crooked squares and rectangles, some not even that. They are red, dark blue, light blue, green, gold, light brown, dark brown, clear, and purple. The edges of the piece are not even and don't fit together. I put it together with copper tape and solder. I haven't hung it in my current house yet, so it's just resting on a window sill in the photo.
