This is precisely how fascism works, by grabbing at and taking away a little more freedom whenever events lend themselves to it. Bit by bit you lose your rights, until you turn around and realize the road you're on has been long, and democracy is well behind you over the horizon.
The admin is wasting no crisis... Sec. Kristi Noem said she is suspending the diversity visa lottery program (DV-1) after the Brown University suspect entered the U.S. through it in 2017.

Dem Leaders Decide to Bury Damning Report on Why Trump Won in 2024
The Democratic National Committee has completed its long-awaited analysis on what went wrong in the 2024 campaign. But in a move that will attract intense criticism, it’s keeping the findings secret.

Everyone who is having a pleasant holiday season because they aren't in the Epstein files, step forward.

Not so fast, David Brooks.

The Epstein files are set to drop tomorrow. Right on cue, the Pedophile Protection Party speaker canceled votes before the deadline.

The American people deserve the entire truth.

No delays.
No cover-ups.
No redactions.

1.) Release all the files.
2.) Send everyone in them back to the island.
3.) Bomb the island.
4.) brush off hands.
He never disclosed that he’d visited Epstein in that column and did a lot of hand waving to insist that he and his fellow elites had nothing, nothing at all to do with him.

I think if you are narrating an audiobook about (among other things) mesoamerican history you should be able to pronounce “adobe,” “agave,” “Tenochtitlan,” and any narrator should not say “casual” for “causal.”

I agree. Either he didn't disclose it to his editors either and this is a colossal violation of conflict-of-interest rules, or he did, in which case someone has a monumental amount of explaining to do.
David Brooks, who wrote in the NYT last month, "The Epstein Story? Count Me Out" is... in the latest Epstein photo dump published by @oversightdemocrats.house.gov.

He should absolutely be fired by NYT for this. Major conflict of interest that he didn't disclose.

I went to a black barber for the first time yesterday and he told me his health insurance was going from $68 a month to $180. A friend who has been struggling with IB issues and UTIs is not signing up on the market because his rate jumped from $150 to $400. I am not even bothering to look lol.
MIKE JOHNSON: Here's the false narrative -- Democrats are pretending as though this affects everybody in the country. It affects 7% of Americans, this extended subsidy

CNBC: But we are talking 22 to 24 million Americans

JOHNSON: We're going to help 100% of Americans reduce their premiums

Members of Congress should act for the interests of the American public—not for their personal financial gain.

That's why House members need to advance the bipartisan Restore Trust in Congress Act, which would finally end congressional stock trading.

Urgent update.

Our bipartisan petition to force a vote on a straightforward extension of the Affordable Care Act tax credits now has 218 signatures.

Mike Johnson should bring the bill to the floor immediately.

One of the great failures of contemporary political news coverage in a lot of media is the unspoken principle that no violation of norms or decency by Trump is really news, worthy of sustained attention, unless it also upsets people who love him. It isn't "not taking the bait"; it's sleepwalking.

Don't throw him a lifeline with another question if he dodges. Have each other's backs and demand he answer the question.
Just to get ahead of this: Print the post out and bring it to the next Mike Johnson presser. You already know what his move will be. There’s no excuse to not be prepared for it.
