I love the mental image of a sport where giant waves sweep away everyone who falls behind the play.
Eliminating ICE is the modern equivalent of opposing the Iraq War, and right now there are two types of Democrats: those who can see where the ball is moving and go to it, and those who will be swept away because they refused to do so.
“I would rather you vote for what is morally correct,” Davidson said.

“Don’t talk to me about my own morality,” DeLauro shot back.

“Don’t tell your constituents what they can and can’t talk to you about,” replied Rev. Nathan Empsall. “What you are voting for is not moral.”

Usually when the US installs far right governments we don't even bother with elections so honestly this seems like progress.
European countries are going to have to recognize the reality that over the next 3 years the US govt is going to operate like Russia - engaging in systematic efforts to tamper in their elections to elect far-right parties & candidates. It will be worse if Vance becomes president.

It's time to put together a slate of the most milquetoast, do-nothing, status-quo moderates we can find. Does anyone know any retired CIA officers?

The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

The thing that shocks me most is that all of this incriminating stuff was sitting at the DOJ for 4 years and Biden & Garland were not cynical or ruthless enough to use it against Trump & Musk in the run up to 2024.

If only they were the evil ‘weaponizers of government’ that MAGA claimed they were!

Tesla bet big on Elon Musk. His politics continue to haunt it.
Tesla struggles to regain its footing in the electric vehicle market, hindered by Elon Musk’s political activity, impacting its stock price and performance.

The main problem with the 'Democrats just need to moderate to win' thesis is that a lot of Glup Shitto moderates no one remembers or cares about have also lost.
you can't tell me that a girl named Blanche Lincoln was real. what do you mean she's real
Let’s remember some guys: Max Baucus. Blanche Lincoln. Arlen Specter. Literally Robert Byrd.

People talk about who has citizenship and who does not as though these are absolute, ontological qualities that confer moral worth, as opposed to legal fictions invented by the state to distinguish between an in-group and an out-group, and can be conferred or withdrawn at any time.

The Groups 2, the groupening
I've been doing politics professionally for 20 years and I don't think I've ever seen 1,000 groups sign onto anything. 100 groups is usually a massive number. 1,000 is almost incomprehensible.
🚨👀 This is powerful.

Over 1,000 (ONE THOUSAND) orgs are asking Congress to "refuse to provide" one more dollar to ICE & CBP and "take action to revoke the tens of billions" given by the reconciliation (Trump's big ugly bill).

Key ask of the letter that just went to Congress. ↘️

I can't put into words the feeling of watching our government, a hive of evil antisocial filth, the absolute worst humanity has to offer, colliding with the best. Ordinary people trying to help each other, risking everything to stand up for what's plainly, unambiguously fair and right. It's unreal
