Hello all,

A couple of things I'd encourage.
1. Don't engage with people trolling, arguing, or just being rude.

2. Don't follow everyone you come across. Curate your feed so it's friends.

3. Be excellent to each other.

SIXTY FUCKING EIGHT PERCENT

What sort of absolute shit golem would you have to be to deny a safe, well tested medical solution to a child because you, you fuck, would rather they were suicidal and under your thumb than being confusing and a potential embarrassment to you in your bigoted circles
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Editing a conference panel and a US lawyer intros a Venezuelan lawyer, and both shit on the US president so hard in less than 10 seconds, without ever naming him it's a thing of beauty.

Wish I could share it.

I just read the most heartbreaking devastating story from a man I once worked with.

I won't relay it here but if you can all do me a favor and give a loved one a hug I'd appreciate it

Life is short, all we got is each other.

So, between picking up a rush gig last weekend and delivering 10 videos to a new client tomorrow, I haven't had much time for reading comics.

Which is frustrating cause I bought 11 trades recently and then went and ordered another 5 that are coming this week.

I way behind in my reading!!!

My wife deciding on a meal:
Does it appeal?
What is the flavour?
What is the texture?
How much work is it?

Anything less than a 90% match elicits revulsion.

Me deciding on a meal:
Hey, this is in the fridge.

Rewatched the sitcom Life in Pieces and it holds up.

Brilliant cast, consistently funny writing and a whole lot of heart.

That said.
Whoever cancelled it, ending it on the heartbreaking moment the story was on should be taken behind the shed and beaten with a manure-caked stick.

I'm amazed that TD Bank continues to disappoint me in whole new ways, despite me not having an account there for years.

This week?
I was sent a new access card because access cards are different from accounts and I didn't ask to close my access card back in... 2010.

I remember having a UBI. It was called “living with my parents,” and I had all my food/shelter needs covered, plus free access to a (shared) TV, music, books, a library card, cars I could borrow and more.

I still worked drudge jobs, because I wanted to buy lots of comics and take girls to movies.
Always grinds my gears when people say "No one would work drudge jobs if there was a UBI"

But even staying completely capitalist, I disagree. If I received a baseline living-wage UBI, and then I was offered REWARDS for drudge jobs, I'd take it! I want to save up for treats and travel and hobbies!

I'm not reposting the video, but there is one going around that is talking about using AI to have fun.

If you pull out your phone, I don't care how expensive it is, and try to use it to "have fun" around me I will smack it out of your hand.

Full Fucking Stop.

12 years after being asked to cohost an odd little podcast, I've agreed to record a pilot.

If you loved a very specific shitty 90s sitcom, Podcast Strangers might be right for you!

These 25 people should be shunned from society.
A 25-person startup is developing technology to block the sun and turn down the planet’s thermostat.

The stakes are huge — and the company and its critics say regulations need to catch up.

Writing out the shopping list, and in 28 yrs I've never been able to convince my wife the back story to every item is not needed.

Yes the tomatoes can be used in 3 different meals depending on what we feel like, you don't need to detail all 3

I do think that the ecological damage argument against genAI is not sufficient on it's own, especially when we just let pass all sorts of other egregious problems, like the carbon footprint of vacation cruise liners.

You also have to pair it with "it doesn't work and only loses money."
