What a fantastic way to begin 2026... thanks to all who came out for our special New Year's Day Ride! Though it was a wet and cold afternoon, we had a dedicated crew come out and enjoy a soggy tour of the Portland Art Museum's and SW 4th's new infrastructure, along with prizes.

Great piece on the economic case for e-bike infrastructure.

Imagine you live in the most dense city in the country, with great eats/shops/bars in your hood but ALSO great stuff in the next one over. E-bikes expand the radius of what's easily available to you.

Less than $797.35 to put us over the finish line before the midnight and the New Year's deadline tonight! Can you help with a small gift at www.TheStreetTrust.org/GG?

If 31 people give just $26 to help represent bicyclists, pedestrians, and transit-riders now, we'd be done for the year. TY!

2025 was brutal for US transit. Agencies faced budget deficits, flat ridership, and open hostility from the White House.

I wrote a series of stories outlining ways to help transit endure.

Here are a few others 🧵
The Last Thing US Transit Agencies Should Do Now
Rising costs and widening deficits as pandemic aid runs out are challenging bus and train operators in many cities. But cutting service needs to be a last resort.
