Gonna try to work in “Let’s circle back after the LA Olympics”
To anyone who has emailed me: Let's circle back after the holidays. Or the Winter Olympics. If not then, after the midterms for sure.

Seeing Rise of Skywalker, a high school aged couple on a first date a row behind me sits down, the girl looks at the guy and says she’s actually never seen a single Star Wars film
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

Raul Julia’s last role
When all the Street Fighter hooplah popped off last night, I got an itch to rewatch the 1994 movie for the first time in ages. Figured it’d be good for a laugh.

And it was ... because this movie is actually a pretty solid, purposeful comedy.
The Old ‘Street Fighter’ Doesn’t Need a Remake Because It’s Already Good
This is the kind of IP adaptation we never get anymore.

Young people still go to the movies, it’s the 40 something’s that bitch about young people hating the theaters that don’t go anymore
If movie theaters were a thing consumers loved, they would be there. They go there for horror movies, some action blockbusters. Let me reiterate a line I wrote decades ago about the nascent digital space: Consumers have taken control of their entertainment experience & they are never giving it back.
The pandemic.
The strike.
The sale of Fox.

“.. Box office experts say 15 to 20 percent of regular moviegoers have simply never returned ..”

My view on runtime is no matter what it is you have earn the length of the movie
The highest grossing film of all time is 2h45m long.

To me issue is the economy. Movies are expensive and no one has time or money to go out. We've completely forgotten or can't afford to have leisure time.

IMHO. YMMV.

So far the biggest difference between Brown from Thibodeau is his willingness to experiment
Mike Brown doing his thing. He's going to find things over 82 that he can break out when he needs 16.
The Josh Hart usage against Milwaukee was fun. Liked him initiating. Going empty side with KAT with cutters around it was a fun idea.

The greatest inheritance is payback.

Glen Powell stars in How to Make a Killing, in which his character, Becket Redfellow, will stop at nothing to reclaim his $28 billion inheritance. Coming to theaters in February 2026.

Apple pie is solid
Pecan pie is underrated
Peach cobbler is the one true 🐐

Pumpkin pie is trash
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

Every long struggling franchise always has stories like this:
"... Joe Dumars operates with the autonomy of a de facto owner, while Senior Vice President Troy Weaver handles the day-to-day responsibilities of the general manager role. The regular presence of Jordan Dumars, however, introduces a third, undefined element into this leadership dynamic."

YIKES.
NEW: For weeks, a mysterious figure was embedded in the Pelicans' inner circle. The team now confirms Jordan Dumars, son of EVP Joe Dumars, is a "Basketball Operations Consultant."
