The limits of "popular vs. unpopular" framing are perfectly illustrated by the fact that, when these sorts of reports were being written 10 years ago, "raising taxes on the wealthy" and "a $15 minimum wage" were usually (and baselessly) placed in the "unpopular" camp.

the reason why a lot of lefties go to this well again and again is because they want a specifically *masculine* coded social movement, something that they think they can sell to their conservative dads, and this relatedly, is why leftist movements that actually win often end up reactionary
one of the core lessons that the civil rights movement drew from its own review of history is that armed resistance against jim crow didn't work. lots of people tried it lots of times and whenever it came to raw force vs raw force they *lost*

"Nature" as an ontological category is a psyop. There is no Eden, except the one we strive to build through virtue. There is no natural state of society, only the society that people wish to build, and who that society serves.
one thing i've been struck by is how even social-constructionist feminists implicitly accept the natural problematic. "patriarchy is socially constructed... but if it WERE natural, then it would be inevitable and valid."
