This is 100% correct. It's the military version of bullying, the targeted nations have no way of preventing it or fighting back.
Trump’s use of military force is airstrikes from distance against much weaker opponents, plus a few special operations raids.
Doesn’t accomplish anything lasting, just destroys and disrupts—plus makes shareable images—but he’s not trying to build.
His style of aggression is risk-averse bullying.

I don't think Greenland fascination is 'fake' in any way, but I do think Trump is uniquely and correctly loathe to involve actual US troops in whatever it is he's doing, and until I see some reporting on troop buildup or standing orders I'm going to treat it as bluster, but our allies markedly can't
