I posted on here a few days ago how I was in a shop and the staff were loudly talking about how Benjamin Doyle should be in prison. No explanation, it just seemed to be obvious to them. One of the staff said something about their looks.

Wait. There's a big driveway just before the lights. That's what it must have done, rather than wait for the stopped cars to move it drove onto the footpath and turned left into the driveway. (I was still a good twenty metres behind)

This is why you shouldn't trust witnesses.

Oh man, as I was coming home this afternoon an immense cartruck in front of me got to the intersection, which was showing a red light for us, drove up onto the footpath, drove — still on the footpath! — past the two or three waiting cars, and took a left. And drove back onto the other road I assume

And also, the fact that I have seen 0 signs *against* Māori wards (just some anonymous mail drops warning about 'radical Māori' etc) shows that for the time being it's still socially awkward to openly support racism around here.

Uh, I actually do think that our country owes its citizens a living. Obviously it does. We look after each other. And I can't personally look after everyone myself so I expect my government to make sure people are okay and support them if they're not.

(And no, we do not just leave it to families.)
