Mean and nasty Canadian. Author of "Play Ball!," a lavishly illustrated, coffee-table book about pro baseball in Vancouver, B.C., now available for sale at Nat Bailey Stadium and the BC Sports Hall of Fame.

Dersh ("I Kept My Underpants On When Given Massage by Babushka") is so charismatic even a lowly Martha's Vineyard pirogi maker doesn't want his business.

Everything wrong with political journalism in one graf. This is not a policy proposal that exists but that doesn’t matter, what matters is that someone “won” by asking it bsky.app/profile/larr...
What a strange framing and characterization. How does one describe his blatantly dishonest, racist question about taxes as “press[ing] the Mayor-elect on his policy proposals”? In what way does this lying troll emerge as a “winner“?

Rifle in hand, I heard Kennedy was murdered. Suddenly the map no longer fit the terrain. Somehow it led to Canada.

McFaul has this exactly right. Ukraine is the example that disproves all the lies on which Russian politics are based.
I’ve been in a room with Putin. He calls Ukrainians “Russians with accents.” His real fear isn’t NATO expansion, it’s democracy expansion. It shatters his entire argument for dictatorship at home. Because if Ukrainians embrace freedom, Russians may demand the same.

I took my 5-year-old son to the final Canucks game at the Pacific Coliseum on May 27, 1995.

He's now 36 and will be attending tonight's sold-out inaugural home opener of the Vancouver Goldeneyes at the Coliseum.
Tonight marks a huge milestone as the Goldeneyes hit the ice for their first-ever home opener at the iconic Pacific Coliseum!
A brand-new team in the PWHL and already making history with a sold-out game. B.C, let’s show up loud and proud to cheer them on as they take on the Seattle Torrent! #PWHL

On Jan. 29, 1942, the German submarine U-132 torpedoed USCGC Alexander Hamilton off the coast of Iceland, killing 26 of her crew.

On Sept. 9, 1942, a German torpedo sank USS Muskeget, killing 117 USCG crew.

What a disgrace to their memory.
Exclusive: The U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify the swastika, nooses and the Confederate flag as hate symbols.

The military service drafted a new policy that classifies them as “potentially divisive.”

Those Freedumb Truckers did cause two political leaders to lose jobs — Erin O'Toole as Conservative leader and his successor Pierre Poilievre as MP for Carleton.
Incredible Taibbi article where he said Trudeau’s battle with the Freedom Truckers was his “Ceausescu moment” (Trudeau was not, as it turned out, executed on Canadian public television, he left office on his own two feet a couple of years later and his party was re-elected, so Taibbi was wrong)
I hope no one gives that clown money to read this slip, but yes sadly here is the link:

This Day in Labor History: November 19, 1915. Utah executed IWW organizer Joe Hill for a murder he almost certainly did not commit. But he was an Wobbly and dispensable to society, especially in Utah, a starkly conservative western state outraged by the sheer existence of these radicals!!!
