Ontarians are spending a record amount on a government whose focus is private spas, casinos, mental health chatbots, private healthcare, alcohol, groomed snowmobile trails, and well-trained peelers.

This could be a hit TV series.

Us: Across your entire career?

Reiner: In a 6 year period.

Us: That sounds-

Reiner: -Each one will be arguably the best movie in that genre.

AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone

- tech is now more expensive
- you cannot trust most media of reality anymore
- programs barely function
- energy prices
- literal psychosis
- your voice can be literally stolen for evil
- more spyware

but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.

I'm at the point in my job search where the job isn't even my goal — I just want a real human to read my resume. 😩

It's like I'm Carol in Pluribus but everyone else is an AI constantly suggesting I tweak my LinkedIn profile to match countless jobs a human would instantly see I'm overqualified for.

my favorite thing about the benoit blanc movies is that they aren't really about benoit blanc. he is not grappling with demons from his past. we are not getting flashbacks to the husband whose murder he never solved. he just shows up and does his job like mary poppins for homicides

AI-generated “synthetic respondents” can now pass the vast majority of fraud, attention, logic, and CAPTCHA checks used in opt-in online survey-based polling.

They can do this cheaply and at scale.

Often without being detected.

I have to rant into the void for a moment. I have an Adobe CC subscription. I know, there are better tools, but I can't put in the effort to move. So I tried out Adobe Express on mobile since I pay for it all.

How in the world do you create an image editing software that cannot crop an image?

I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.

Bill 60 passed earlier today.
“We see the risks, and we’re calling out this gaslighting for what it is — an attempt to weaken public oversight and hand critical services to private interests.”

My latest for PressProgress is on Ontario's Bill 60 and why some are concerned that it is paving the way towards water privatization.
Doug Ford's government claims the province isn’t privatizing water.

Experts aren't convinced.
