I mentioned an old YouTube skit to my housemates but I couldn't find it because I forgot the title. So I wrote a Python script to scrape autogenerated captions from the uploader's channel and search for phrases I remembered. Started the script, then ran errands, came back, and it worked. >:)

Alright! Let's actually talk about this waterfall thing. It is an amazing showcase of many things that I adore from late 90s/early 2000s graphics.
I am replicating this in Blender through mere observation, so some things might not be fully accurate to the mind-boggling effects of the PS1.

Going for an all-levels run on Han-Tani's Challenge (or the level below .. Melos's Trick) is like an exquisite course meal of weird bumpslash action. Every enemy comes into focus in a really sharp way, it's kind of like "close listening" to an album or really looking up close at a painting
This will be our first game with achievements with an unholy level of difficulty... and a numbered hall of fame like Xanadu lol

I opened the Wizwag Nim codebase for the first time in a while, then forgot about the VS Code window for a while bc I was in a call. My mac mini got laggier and laggier mysteriously until I had to forcibly restart it because the extension host was using over 55 GB of RAM from nimcheck in the bg.

Vertex colors are crucial to Angeline Era's unique, low-poly art style!

Much of the game's cube-based artwork is actually black and white. We then use a color palette system to create most of the game's vivid forests and towns!🌲

Super Mario World has an extremely eclectic art style whereby many enemies are drawn in completely different ways. Development files reveal Mario went through many stylistic changes; it is possible that all the enemies were made to fit Mario, but at different points in time.
