We just bought our longtime building! Purchasing our forever home marks an exciting and transformative turning point for our physical media library and Seattle’s creative ecosystem.
We cannot wait to share more exciting updates with you in the months ahead! scarecrowvideo.org/posts/scarec...

I can't put into words the feeling of watching our government, a hive of evil antisocial filth, the absolute worst humanity has to offer, colliding with the best. Ordinary people trying to help each other, risking everything to stand up for what's plainly, unambiguously fair and right. It's unreal

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

His name is Liam Ramos, and he is 5. He was abducted from Minneapolis and trafficked to a detention camp in Texas.
This picture making the rounds on reddit, Columbia Heights. I'm not OK.

GOP: We are sending armed perverts to assault families. Even babies. We are in open warfare against all things good.

Schumer: People call him TACO, but these days it's getting hard to afford one! Can you chip in $5 today to help us hold Mr. Trump accountable for these soft shell economic policies?

The Trump-Vance administration just used your taxes to pay for an ICE agent to do this to a 21-year-old kid, who was only protesting because another ICE agent killed a mother of three, who was only there because ICE agents are kidnapping your neighbors

ICE just murdered a woman here in Minneapolis. A legal observer. Shot her multiple times while she drove away as ordered. She was a US citizen.

Absolute, unequivocal, cold-blooded murder by Trump’s gestapo.

Abolish ICE, jail for everyone in charge. This is the lowest bar we accept now.

Previous awards thread below. Let's hear it one more time for ART, BAYBEE 🎉

It's time for my annual awards show for media I discovered in the past year!

Lorelei was easily my favorite puzzler, but nods to The Case of the Golden Idol and Gorogoa as well!

I had some incredible FromSoft experiences in 2024. I also played Dark Souls 1.

And finally Books! So many different flavors here, all a delight.

Silksong was everything I wanted and more, well worth the wait (and Prince of Persia was the perfect Metroidvania to tide me over in the meantime). Already impatient for the next installment of Deltarune.

Here are some of my favorite "jams"! This little awards show isn't necessarily for media released this past year, but this sheet of music is all hot and fresh, from 2025.

My favorite shows this year were all both sincere and surprising (or at least silly)

I like to celebrate the media I discovered each year, and the human emotion and artistry poured into them. I brushed up on Blender in order to stylize my 2025 awards as tasty treats, starting with Movies!

I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time

It has been wild to see what were always the two most paranoid pro-Second Amendment scenarios—the government snatching people away and sending occupying armies into communities—literally happen this year, to the delight of conservatives
There can’t be any gun restrictions because we have to protect against federal government tyranny, and if kids get shot we just have to live with it. Also the President can send troops to cities because the federal government can do whatever it wants. These two ideas are consistent and reasonable.

New from @budgetlab.bsky.social: the combined effect of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” and his tariffs leave the bottom 90% of America poorer on average, with only the top 10% of America better off.

Seattle progressives expanded their leads by around 4-5% today, with Katie Wilson crossing the 50% mark. With 90+% of ballots counted, the results won’t change much more at this point. Heading into the general, the left will have momentum and incumbents will be worried.
