Genuine thing - every time I see a spirit level, I think to myself "Les is still in love with that. But he's still afraid of the chives."

Reading the Funko Pop news thing and marvelling (I bit like Rovio and Zynga) how quickly you can go from "having several licences to print money" to "oh no, we went bust under a mountain of debt".
But then no-one actually intends for a company to last more than five years any more, do they?

worth remembering at this point that the man who started the transformation of the BBC from a public to a state news broadcaster was Alaistair Campbell; and that thanks largely to his efforts the last BBC DG to resign amid confected scandal was Greg Dyke.

No more noble British tradition than resigning over some nonsense everyone is only pretending to be angry about rather than all of the actually bad things you've done.

I see we’re back to “according to the laws of the game it was offside but it should be allowed because the goalie wasn’t getting to it anyway” from the punditry.
Always instructive as to who gets the rules strictly applied and who gets appeals for “the flow of the game”.

It is 8th Nov in a European city widely thought to have terrible weather at about 51 degrees North.
Xmas markets open in 3 weeks.
It is nearly 16C outside & nearly 22C inside.
I have multiple windows open to create a through-draft.
I am wearing shorts & a t-shirt.
This is not fucking normal.

The simple truth told time and time again in the polls: The public doesn’t care about trans issues. Voters care deeply about the economy, inflation, & prices.

Sooooo... MS almost double the price of GamePass Ultimate and give me 4 days notice to cancel.
Good job I did - and I bought PowerWash Simulator 2 for less than a single month subscription.
Shame. It was great while it lasted but an 80% increase? Just because you need the money for AI...

Hmm. Logged into the OOMTM blog (with the intention of shutting it down, though saving the content.)
Apparently it has saved me from over 56,000 spam comments. Which is probably around about the total amount of visitors it ever had. Advertising (not just spam) really is a plague on the Internet.

Levellers were always properly hated by the music press but I didn’t give a shit.
This and the preceding albums are Side B to the soundtrack of my late teens and early twenties.
