Josie and her family raised €5,700 for @OscarsKidsIE in 2023.

Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

I think about this heartbreaking letter, written by Kathleen Keyes to the Irish Times six years ago, often at this time of year.

I remembered it today when I was feeling a little stabby and inwardly moaning "FFS December's barely into double digits" in a supermarket queue.

A poignant reminder.

First it was dodgy text messaging and now this.

By answering you confirm your number to scammers.
I've had nine spam calls since Monday, all from 0044 numbers. What's going on? I know other people are inundated, too.
