I'm just going to submit the manuscript to PMC and let the journal sue me. If they dare.
Does anyone have clarity on whether NIH open access requirements are satisfied by simply posting a paper on bioRxiv? Or are we required to pay the astronomical publication fees to journals?

Jay Bhattacharya, an economist who has never practiced medicine and doesn’t conduct biomedical research, thinks that you and your loved ones dying from diseases that could have been cured is worth it cause antivaxxers are nicer to him on social media than people who know how anything works

I guess people have forgotten that Trump started the pandemic by refusing to test and bringing in tens of thousands of people in crowded airports. and then stole PPE from blue states. and then suggested bleach or UV light might cure it. and then tried to kill Biden with it. and then

So. I broke down and made my new ScienCV NIH Biosketch and it was...fine? I don't get the trauma it was causing folk. I suppose if you never wrote an NIH Biosketch before it would be confusing but if you had one already its just copy pasting shit into text boxes. Took me less than 10 minutes

One thing that sucks very bad is that everyone, and I do mean everyone, people you like, are using Claude to write their NSF and NIH grants even when it's against the rules, and also, the process is no longer reliable or merit based, and like no I'm not going to do it, but fuck!! FUCK!!

This is a huge glaring issue right now. Courts generally ARE doing fairly well, even including significant number of Trump appointees. The corruption is concentrated in scotus.
Our court system is largely working, with the exception of the most important court
Courts have ruled 4,400 times that ICE jailed people illegally. It hasn’t stopped.

This is a genuinely huge, sweeping victory today for the University of California—or rather, for us, its faculty, acting through our faculty associations, while the UC itself maintained a strict policy of deer-in-headlights silence.

US Troops killed all the guards at Dachau for this kind of shit.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.
