Is the MAGA half-time show live yet?

Lol
for anyone unfamiliar with the town of Seattle it's sort of an American Vancouver

A reminder too that the half-time artist is “paid in exposure”; the cost of putting together the show itself? I’m not sure.
That halftime show is what people mean when they say "joy is an act of resistance."

Do you wanna make sure you didn’t miss a single second of symbolism from Bad Bunny’s halftime show? This thread gotchu!
First shot: sugarcane

The backbone of Puerto Rico's agricultural economy since colonial times

Still used to make rum of course!

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance required 9,852 theatrical pyrotechnics, nearly 400 costumed extras, and a lot of ingenuity.

And yes, that was a real couple featured in the wedding.

Okay so a thing I LOVED about that is how, whereas so many halftime shows kind of elevate the star above the other dancers/extras—often literally—that was like the exact opposite, he was *with and among* the people around him

Too mad at the spanish they completely missed the visual metaphors that made up the whole show

The funny thing is if the game went another 2 minutes the refs would’ve brought another 5 penalties against the Seahawks.
That last minute was wild

Most racists don’t know Sesame Street is in NYC. Sad for them & their ignorance
It's not even midnight and we're already at "Deport Elmo."
February 9, 2026 at 3:20 AM
It’s not a Seahawks-patriots game unless the refs make weirdo decisions against Seattle at a touchdown moment 🫠

More importantly, Bad Bunny’s grammy speech was on the TV the family was watching, which is the real sneaky activist part
FYI: The little boy in Bad Bunny's #SuperBowl halftime show wasn't Liam Ramos as some have said, it was a child actor: Lincoln Fox www.instagram.com/the_lincfox/...

Yet another super bowl where the commentators have to condescend to the Seahawks about dominating (yes i remember the 2015 game)

[also there was at least one illegal hold against a Seahawks wide receiver that was not called by refs, so: the usual shit]
February 9, 2026 at 3:03 AM
The idea the the Seahawks kicker may win the game against the patriots fills me with joy

time to remind everybody that the Super Bowl halftime show only exists in this grandiose fashion because a tv show called "In Living Color" stole the ratings from the NFL; the execs notoriously said, "get me Michael Jackson's agent" and thus began all the pomp

Long may it haunt them
I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them
What a moment.

Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous
