While true to an extent that people with toxic beliefs can and should be blocked, there are a vast number of Trump supporters who need to be persuaded that Trump is a conman and reminded that democracy is and has been functional and good. I've had success in the past.

I can recall my Con Law professor pointing out that mental health > jurisprudence, but he may or may not also have argued successfully that the death penalty is an 8th Amendment violation for mentally "retarded" individuals. Mental health is y'know important.

I do think that you and I disagree about on the federal reserve system and the national debt. Thanks for pointing out wrong cite. I do think that the article you linked is biased. But neo-feudalism is not the right description of the current consolidation of capital and extreme disparity of wealth.

I first heard earlier tonight of this while on the phone with my son when his roomate got upset. A 16yo gay Argentina boy who is looking at the US as the embodiment of evil and cruelty.

I didn’t know how to console him. I simply agreed that Trump is pure evil.

Daily the world is horrified by us.

Yes, I believe that I said I saw the citation. But below that graph is a link that no longer works. And the calculation, according to the author, is based on an adjusted poverty line for California, rather than the actual Census Bureau statistics.

You are right, I looked at 53. The basis for this was a modified analysis. Unfortunately the source cited in 54 is not available, so it's hard to recreate the data. But the claim is not "based on Census Bureau" estimates. I think we agree that disparity of wealth is a problem.

That article is a real piece of work. It claims 28% of African-Americans in California live below the poverty line, and cites to a Forbes Article. The Forbes article makes similar unfounded claims about California, but it does not contain the fact it's cited for, which also is pretty clearly false.

I may consider a different distro for my own personal computer, but I'm looking at migrating a small business of Win 10 computers (and some Win 11 computers) to a single OS distribution.

I went through a list of distributions and looked at which would be least likely to be a hassle to maintain across 6-10 different machines with users who are reluctant toward change and are not sophisticated users. Based on what I read, fedora seemed the most "general workstation".
