I need you all to understand the sheer level to which I'm bringing this. Not only did I invite a crew of people to create with me, I developed a character for our Editor-in-Chief, spent my adult money to make a website, created a Discord server for the team to work in, and have so many plans for it!

Super Mario World has an extremely eclectic art style whereby many enemies are drawn in completely different ways. Development files reveal Mario went through many stylistic changes; it is possible that all the enemies were made to fit Mario, but at different points in time.

Since everyone is sharing a bit of the struggle of being a freelance artist:
My wife work full time and has health coverage for her and the kid. If not for that, idk what we would do.
The only way for my part to be worth it, is by working 7/7, 10-14 hours a day on commissions. +

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"
The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on
