An MP who I know cares very deeply about this issue has sent a rather hurt message saying MPs had very little notice of the VAWG announcement and it was made on a day most had (with good reason) opted to use meeting their many other commitments as MPs. It's a good challenge so I share it.
The tragic reality about violence against women and girls: unless it's an issue which can be weaponised to bash trans people or migrants no one gives a fuck.

Ahmed al Ahmed, the man who tackled one of the Bondi killers, became an Australian citizen 3 years ago.

His deed was "his way of conveying his gratitude for staying in Australia, for being granted citizenship."

He took 5 bullets, and fears he'll lose his left arm.

Just dreamy!
Have you thought of a name for her? 😊
I think that went well. I also got carefully checked out by her brother and sister, who have their own homes to go to.

Sunday evening and here we go again.
Best foot forward and all that, sending hugs to those that need them. 😘

Yesterday our town was collecting for local food banks. There shouldn't be a need for them, but in my small town we have three.
Badenoch hasn't got a clue, shame on her. 😠
Well done to the eukele group who sang and serenaded the customers, we all donated tins of food! 🎄

It is newsworthy that the president of the United States is increasingly verbally abusive of women reporters and he should be asked about it.

Just appalling!
No words.
This story more than any other disgusts me.

Yinka was a little 9 year old boy

Farage was a swaggering bully aged 17

We all knew those bullies at school and in this case teenager Farage was a racist bully too
Yinka Bankole was 12 when Farage spotted him in the playground:

“He towered over me. ‘Where are you from?’ he asked. Within seconds of offering my rather confused and sputtering answers, he had a clear response: ‘That’s the way back to Africa,’.”

Oh I am chuckling here! 🤭
I finally got to see my GP today and showed him the rash on my bum.

He just ignored me and carried on pushing his trolley round Tescos…

I wonder if it's time to retire the role of "political editor" altogether

Return most of the coverage to the Economics Editor, the Health Editor, the Home Affairs team & so on.

Leave the "who-said-what-to-whom" & "what-does-it-mean-for-the-polls" to others. The BBC doesn't need to foreground this.
Watched BBC 6 o clock news. Just a completely unserious broadcast. Chris Mason, acting like a children's entertainer, giving a prolonged impenetrable editorial. Not a whiff of informative content about the Budget or what it means for the country. Just playschool blah blah bollocks.
