another hidden/externalized cost and form of theft in AI is the bots for Meta etc are blowing up site hosting charges of pages they're looting for information to take credit for. profits go to meta and others, made possible by costs spread to all the operators of sites they're crawling to steal from
Last month AI crawlers generated 90% of my site's traffic, forcing me to pay penalties
Problem solved after moving nameservers to Cloudflare+turning on AI crawler blocking.
Site monthly outbound data back to ~40GB per month, down from 800GB (!!) No impact on human visitors

The way writers (of games too!!!!) and artists have to also be their own social media managers now to get work needs to be studied
I just don’t want “film a video and hope it goes viral” to be a “reasonable” expectation of authors!! I hate being on video! I am too awkward for video!

heads up as tech that used to work fine keeps getting worse, google's attempt to summarize my flight email somehow made up the wrong date, which is not a date in this email. it then added it on my calendar for the wrong date. when I tried moving it, google moved it back to wrong. don't trust google⚠️

This “solo dev” and “only 3 devs” rhetoric is getting truly dangerously out of hand. Investors see this and think “I only have to pay 3 people” and the result is severely overworked and/or underpaid people and a subpar product. We need to stop treating outsourcers and contractors like ghosts.
