I was just reading the transcript and had to go back and listen to this part specifically to see if some joking tone was being lost in print. There wasn't! I think maybe he DID think these guys were fans of Polymarket!

i was born 20 days after the twin peaks premiere so it was the last cool pop culture thing for adults that my parents knew about for decades. they used to say "darn fine pie" all the time and i didn't realize it was an explicit (albeit modulated) reference until i saw it on tumblr gifsets in college
I was lucky enough to watch #TwinPeaks in the order it came out but for many, the first two seasons were hard to come by so #FireWalkWithMe was their introduction.
Not until the show hit Netflix and released on DVD did it take off again.

I have this but for recipe videos that start with “Did you know…??” Like yes, I DID know that if you combined ground beef, garlic, crushed tomatoes, onions and carrots then you will have a delicious pasta sauce, I‘ve eaten food before and understand that it is typically made of ingredients
I never understand when ads or spam or something begin with "Did someone say...???" No, no one said "discounted shipping." What a weird thing that would be to just say.
