I honestly think it is the only job of a Party. Win elections and amass power in order to do the things you want to do.

I value your input here, but I have to disagree with this. Yes, Dems should be educating the public in all 50 States for the purpose of winning elections in all 50 States.

Where I differ is that the Dem Party's chief goal should be winning elections and power. Everything else flows down from there.

To extend the thought exercise, I bet living next to such a neighbor would be a breath of fresh air. Trying to communicate in limited ways and developing a relationship that is more pure than the ones where we feud with English speakers over the speacial assessment the HOA is proposing, et cetera.

And not to hijack, but are there potential pitfalls when it comes to seating a new congress? I expect all kinds of crazy retouching over the two months between the election and the new term. I'm sure all kinds of Dem-elect candidates are going to be contested.

What's funny is people were taking what I was saying as support for Plattner, demamding i answer if i think the tattoo is okay....totally left field stuff. One person was saying I was attacking Mcdonald. Not at all! People don't even read what they're responding to.

Is this the rationale behind the argument I've seen that in the event of a contested Congress that new members can meet anywhere and be sworn in by anyone as long as there is a quorum? That, in effect, johnson can't prevent a new congress from forming?

I've severed ties with family over racism and Nazi ideals. These were easier relationships to sever so I'm not sure it took much courage. Luckily no one I'm super close with has forced me to choose. Though the longer this goes on, the more I think this will tear families apart a al the Civil War.

I dumped him as soon as I found out it was legit. And for every person that I see saying we need him for some reason or another seems to make the cringiest of arguments as to why it's okay. Normalizing it would be worse than actually electing someone that had priors.
