As a (long ago) former prosecutor, I agree and support this.
Time for Democratic officials to petition the state bar of each DOJ lawyer who works on these BS cases to be disbarred. These prosecutors know the case is "not supported by probable cause." That is grounds for disbarment. Time to take the fight to the corrupt DOJ!

This rule just FAILED 214-217. Republican leaders delayed the vote by hours and held it open for an extended time — to no avail. Don Bacon, Kevin Kiley and Thomas Massie voted no, with all Democrats.
The "rule" on the floor today contains this section. Essentially Speaker Johnson is asking the House to vote to prohibit itself from voting on revoking Trump's tariffs through at least July. An extension of what Republicans have previously acceded to. Unclear it'll pass again.

I can confirm this is true and I can also say that the lack of an eviction moratorium is fueling this trend.

Constitutional law as practiced in the United States in 2026 is a process of passing off raw political preferences as shoddy law-office history. It's an embarrassing spectacle and and deeply corrupt, and god willing one day before I shuffle off this mortal coil we will put an end to it.
SCOTUS is deciding two 2nd Amendment cases this Term. In each, the Court will apply a history-and-tradition test that, as @espinsegall.bsky.social argues on the blog, has no basis in actual history, ignores grave harms, and is unlike anything else in constitutional law.

Bishop Tyson is clearly saying if Alex Pretti was a terrorist, then Jesus was a terrorist.

One of the most crucial steps to removing the Epstein network is to cut off all funding and intelligence sharing with Israel. It sounds like a big task but the future of our collective democracies depends on our ability to route out traitors, spies, and Trojan horses. Israel must go.

The office of the President of the United States has been vacant since Jan 20th, 2025.

Amendment 14, Section 3 makes that clear. An insurrectionist cannot hold office except by assent of 2/3rds of Congress.

When the office is once again filled, every illegitimate EO & law will be undone.

@aoc.bsky.social Don't hope. Demand.
AOC: We are going to have to reckon, as a country, with this time. And I hope that that reckoning includes prosecution of people who are involved with the lawbreaking and human rights violations they are knowingly engaging in right now.

A friend went to a political meeting on the outskirts of KC last night, borderline rural. There was a USAF vet there, mid-40s, he's running for school board. Got real personal about discussions with his wife, who sat beside him, about his willingness to die for the Constitution. She began to cry.

Somehow I think DHS shutting down will make the homeland more secure.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Thursday that demands made by Democrats for new restrictions on federal immigration officers are “unrealistic” and warned that the Department of Homeland Security will shut down next week if they do not work with Republicans and the White House.

ICE at the polls! Bannon is basically yelling “fire” in a crowded theater here. His objective is to cause chaos (and suppress votes on the left). And it’s already working.

This threat works on multiple levels and doesn’t have to be “real” to serve its purpose.

Let me explain & offer some advice.

🧵 Kate is right about how Bannon’s rhetoric is meant to intimidate and depress participation. But I’ll add a fourth level/pillar to her thread: visible, real-world community response. Minneapolis shows how observers, neighbors, and organized pushback blunt fear by refusing silence. (1/9)

Steve Bannon says the federal government is planning to send ICE officers to patrol polling stations during the midterms.

"We're going to have ICE surround the polls come November."

"We're not going to sit here and allow you to steal the country again." www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Agree - and I really believe that the loud, visible public response in Minneapolis exposes weakness in the Bannon approach, and the strength of ground-level community actions. So many traditional guardrails we’ve long taken for granted have been eroded. It’s on all of us and our communities.

If every single ICE + Border Patrol agent was assigned to go be menacing outside a polling place, with only one agent at each location, that still wouldn't cover even half of all in-person voting sites in the United States.

@bostonreview.bsky.social it would've been awesome if you guys came up with some kind of a print edition to deliver directly to lawmakers. A physical piece of prose to hold onto, not so easily discarded like a swipe or an unread browser tab.
This part of our response essay is where I'm at. Boiling down all of politics to electoralism has been absolutely terrible for resisting rising authoritarianism.
