Bigotry is rooted in deep insecurity, which in full load, is narcissism. It's rooted in the belief you're not worthy of love. It's rooted in competition as the only defense for the crushing knowledge you aren't good enough. The fantasies are just intellectualized justification after the fact.

They are so, so, so incompetent
So apparently there are many Epstein files on the DOJ website where you can highlight the redacted text, copy it, and paste it onto another document to read the redactions

crisis pregnancy centers, which receive public funds alongside private donations, are designed to extract children from pregnant women. It’s a prolonged psyop aiming to strip their sense of self-worth to the point that they will feel totally incapable & unworthy of keeping their own children. 🥚

Can you tell that today is a solstice by the tilt of the Earth? Yes. At a solstice, the Earth's terminator -- the dividing line between night and day -- is tilted the most.

All of the people in this photo descend from America's 2nd Vice President and 3rd President, Thomas Jefferson. Would JD consider these people white? If not, why not? They're all "heritage Americans" in that they descend from a founder, yes?

So they've apparently had 1000 agents working through the 300GB of Epstein files, and they've managed to release under 1% of them, and those wholly or heavily redacted.
Trump must feature in them an awful lot for the task to be so onerous.

Americans & Europeans needlessly exposing African babies to preventable diseases just to see if they can find something that would justify their preexisting antivaccine beliefs is not only unscientific and actually anti-science, it is very much reminiscent of colonialist, racist human rights abuses
“It is not clear what the research question is. It seems to be about the safety of the vaccine rather than its effectiveness, but both are already well-established, and to undertake such a study in a population where almost 1/5 of the adult population has a marker of infection seems extremely risky”

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

Please share this widely. There have been 13 peer-reviewed critiques of the Cass Review, to the extent that academia regards it as pseudoscience, but so far all have been subject to organised censorship by mainstream media. This is the first time one has broken through. Oz Guardian only still.
Worked hard to get this into Guardian Oz & big props to @fiercemum.bsky.social for setting it up & Melissa Davey for publishing it. She will doubtless get loads of hassle from transphobes for it, but it needs to be out there.

How the Trump Administration Is Quietly Resegregating the American Workforce
The Justice Department’s rollback of disparate impact is just one new policy that makes it harder for people of color to challenge illegal discrimination.

This is the institutionalization of Turning Point's professor watchlist. It invites mass harassment and declares war on independent ideas. If unlearned sociopaths can influence your teaching through threats, academic freedom is essentially dead.
It’s the entire point. There’s no plan to make this meaningful for students. No plan to use it administratively. Its design and implementation signals its only real intent. It’s best and easiest use case is for systematic harassment and to scare faculty into complying in advance.
We know the students don’t read the syllabuses. So who will? Right-wing activists looking for excuses to hound profs.

As an adoptee and abolitionist, this 🧵 is powerful. Read Dorothy Roberts. You can learn how the system of adoption is built on racial capitalism, colonialism, and slavery. You can change the questions you ask. There are so many ways to reimagine the world.
Every adoption reveals so many politics. I’ve grown to apply the idea of abolition (of slavery) to prisons & policing, ie: I stopped asking how prison & police could be improved, but ask how conditions of societies can change so that they’re unnecessary.

Abolition can be applied to adoption, too.
Every defense of intercountry #adoption into the USA is a defense of what the other sending country *will* eventually call a “shameful chapter in our history.” Bank on that.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

This administration are child abusers and child killers. It's really a simple as that.
It is utterly catastrophic that RFK Jr. plans to end CDC recommendations for most childhood vaccines.

It’s a betrayal of science, ethics, compassion, and the people of the United States.

And it was also a specific goal of Project 2025 (page 254).

Records show that Maria Farmer, who worked for Epstein, filed a "child pornography" report to the FBI in 1996.

The FBI has never before acknowledged that complaint. The case went nowhere, and mass abuse followed.

since poverty is the overwhelming cause of relinquishment, we should think of #adoption, largely, as a grotesque mockery of mutual aid: instead of spending money to provide material support to someone in crisis, we spend even more to complete the catastrophe to which the crisis has driven them.
i’m rereading Kathryn Joyce’s THE CHILD CATCHERS and I came across this passage, which characterizes infant #adoption in the USA: an industry in which clients purchase children with sums of money that often could have lifted those children’s families out of poverty “many times over.”

If you are wondering, how else do we help children in other countries who need care?Your brain is moving in the right direction. Because human trafficking was never the answer. Stealing children from their families of origin was never the answer. Erasing their identities was never the answer.
does everyone hitting Like on those posts decrying the banning of intercountry #adoption from countries like Cuba (which does not even *send* children to the US for adoption) even understand that intercountry adoption has been in steep decline for decades?
