What he's suggesting is blatantly racist and illegal

Even if he could convince the MAGA Supreme Court justices to go along with any of this, it would tear this country apart

And-unsurprisingly-not a single moment of empathy for Sarah Beckstrom or self-reflection on his role in her being killed
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“

This aged well. The MOU leaves the federal and AB provincial governments all but say out loud that FN "engagement" will be limited to "how can we get you to incentivize you to agree to what we are planning?". Miles away from good-faith consultation, let alone free, informed, prior consent.
Same goes for First Nations. The federal government is going to spend a lot of time and money in court explaining how they could be serious about consulting with Indigenous peoples in accordance with s35 obligations, when they approved the project in principle before the conversation even began.

The Trump administration has reacted to a small scale lone wolf attack by in DC announcing a sweeping collective punishment, using the organs of government to heap blame on partisan rivals, and potentially dissuading anyone from collaborating with US forces abroad for a generation.

Ahead of launching a war on Venezuela, the US would like to announce that no one in Venezuela should help US forces, it'd be stupid to do so, the US will denigrate you and screw you over no matter how much you help, and blame you if even one Venezuelan who also helped the US ever does something bad.

Shooting Nat Guard is bad, the perpetrator should be brought to justice.

Troops are in DC only for Trump's political stunt, based on lies, creating not reducing dangerous situations.

Far from the worst act of political violence in the US this year, but will get more attention.

All true at once.

Authoritarian US rival threatens US democratic partner, a US democratic ally objects, and...

The Trump administration tells the democratic ally to shut up, blaming them rather than the authoritarian whose aggressive stance is causing the problem.

Yes, again. In a different place this time.

The war will end when Russia stops fighting. Therefore, pressure has to be put on Russia, so that they stop believing that they will win. Why is that so hard to understand?

Don’t forget that *Trump’s own lawyer’s argument* to the Supreme Court in the immunity case was that the check on the President using his immunity to order criminal acts was that those under him would not follow illegal orders. Now it’s a crime for lawmakers to remind servicemembers of that?
The President doesn't want you standing up and speaking out against him, so he's coming after me to intimidate all of us.

But I won't back down — and neither should you.

the invasion of Afghanistan is among the most horrific recent chapters of the long history of elite impunity in the US. this coda is grim but fitting - the govt practically explicitly affirming that it should only be Afghans who live with the consequences amid fading public memory of the atrocity

Of course "limited opportunities" are ENTIRELY because the U.S. regime chose not to support Ukraine.

Throughout the war the US aid has been too little too late. Still now, no Tomahawks/long range weapons, not enough air defence, weak sanctions.

Vance tells his mate what to say and we're supposed to believe Dan Driscoll's nonsense.

He says Ukraine has "limited opportunity to change the disadvantageous situation on the battlefield & the current course is not sustainable. Therefore, tough concessions have to be made.”

It's a strange way to go about building national unity—agreeing with Alberta what should be built in BC without talking to BC about it.

Can't imagine the federal government taking this approach to a project that went through Ontario or Quebec.
