Connecticut is seeing an early and sharp flu surge. Confirmed cases jumped from about 250 last December to more than 1,800 so far this year. Health officials warn a more aggressive strain is spreading and urge residents to get vaccinated.

Mercedes cheated emissions tests, and we held them accountable. Connecticut led 50 attorneys general in securing a nearly $150 million settlement. Our state will receive almost $5 million, consumers will get repairs, warranties, and payments.

WARNING: Be extremely careful what you post next year for during the mid-terms. AI generated slop from Senate Republicans are so desperate to win, I would expect more of this type of slop all over social media. Mills is the current Governor of ME running to replace pearl clutching Susan Collins.
12/21 U.S. Senate Republicans are already using AI slop to deceive Maine voters #maine #MEpolitics

The problem with this piece, like all the other pieces, is that the missing hed, dek, & lede is that all of this was wildly illegal, unconstitutional, & criminal. This is how you normalize lawless authoritarianism - treat like just another story in our politics. “Transformation” is lazy euphemism.
This WaPo piece weaves together an incredibly powerful story about the way Trump has devastated government and the dedicated people who wake up every day to serve the public. wapo.st/4b14KAy

How DOGE and the White House carried out a once-unthinkable transformation of the nation’s sprawling bureaucracy.

So, you ask, if they can’t just do a simple thing like release the files as the law requires, how can we trust them to do hard things like run the economy and keep us safe?

The answer, of course, is that we can’t. We can never trust they can and will do the right thing.
Lawless shambolic shitshow.
WASHINGTON (AP) — At least 16 files from Epstein release disappeared from DOJ webpage, including photo of Trump, with no explanation.

Sen. Wyden continues the laborious work of unearthing the truth about Epstein. Files are to be released tomorrow. Looking at you Bondi.
My investigators are back with more on our follow the money investigation into Epstein.

Here’s a thread for anyone interested in learning about another major Epstein mystery:
Exclusive | Senators Press FBI Over Failure to Investigate Epstein’s Lawyer and Accountant
The FBI never interviewed Darren Indyke or Richard Kahn about their work for Epstein; they deny knowing about Epstein’s crimes.

If you're a Republican wanting to return to Congress after the mid-term in November, tonight is probably the time where many have made their decision to retire. Expect more news in the coming weeks of retirements or resignations.
Tonight, Donald Trump tried to sell us all a shit sandwich, desperate to convince the American people that he isn't a complete and utter failure.

He’s lost the economy. He’s lost his mind. And next year, he’s going to lose the midterms.

Because they released the Sept 2nd video already!! Just not the part where they illegally killed the survivors. There's nothing "top secret" about the second strike if there wasn't anything top secret about the first one.
Hegseth on the second Sept 2 strike: "Of course we're not going to release a top secret full unedited of that to the general public"

Trump’s Chief of Staff admitted in her Vanity Fair interview that Trump:

-Is in the Epstein files
-Wants to escalate conflict with Venezuela
-Focuses on revenge on his political opponents over helping the American people

This confirms everything we knew about Trump from the most inside source.

Here is a clear explanation of what happened in today's meeting. Thank you Sen. Murphy for explaining what is going on in the Caribbean is most likely illegal and I would think puts Rubio and Hegseth in the future in impeachment hearings. Don't take your eyes of of the mid-term elections!
I just came out of the briefing with Sec. Rubio and Sec. Hegseth on the military strikes in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. Here's what I learned.

Bottom line: there is no legal or national security justification for what they're doing. Not even close.

Chris Whipple at Vanity Fair did shockingly little pushback - this was the only place he intervened at all and it was far too little, as you say. And he seamlessly goes on to gush about Wiles' loyalty to her team, Stephen Miller, Dan Scavino and Taylor Budowich, without noting their roles in Jan 6.
Wiles gives Whipple dirt on Rubio, Vance, Musk, but is loyal to HER team: Miller, Scavino, Budowich. Whipple mildly fact-checks her trying to whitewash Jan 6, but doesn't note: her team ARE Jan 6ers. Miller wrote the J6 speech. Scavino sent the first J6 announcement. Budowich arranged the funds. 3/
