Incorrect. America has a lot of areas that are incredibly gerrymandered, which allowed for the votes of 1/3 of the voting aged populace to be the victors of an election. Which means 2/3 of that populace did not pick this. We DO care! It’s not just protesting. There are other ways to resist.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

40% of SNAP recipients are kids, 18% are elderly, 11% are disabled and of the rest, ~70% already have jobs. So unless your company’s hiring Junior Juice Box Interns, grandma and her walker, or knows how to fit more hours in a day, maybe cool it with the “just get a job” takes.

South Carolina schools recently sent home unvaccinated kids to stem a growing measles outbreak. It turned out 5 of them were infected and, if they'd been at school, could've unwittingly spread it to their classmates for days.

There have been far more than 2 protests. I see people out every weekend here and there’s usually at least one larger scheduled one a month. Additionally, the states are very spread out and so it makes it look like “nothing”. People are doing something, even if you can’t see it in a snappy video.

Not a BIPOC woman and certainly not one who will actually be progressive instead of milquetoast centrism. I literally had a panic attack when they announced Kamala’s presidency, even though I voted for her. I told my partner at the time “they won’t elect a Black woman who used to be a cop.”
