Quentin Tarantino wants to make you aware of every single opinion of his, whether you actually want to or not.

I co-sign the sentiment, but “bitch” is never ”gender neutral.” Yes, the epithet is applied to males too, but the clear context is *always* “bitches“ are weak and inferior—like women. The insult only works because “bitch” means “female” (or worse, “female dog”). Let’s forget this terrible slur.
In the immortal words of the great 21st century poet Ludacris:

“Move, bitch (gender neutral), get out the way,
Get out the way, bitch (gender neutral), get out the way”
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

My years at Northwestern University were the happiest of my life. Sad to see a once great institution capitulate to two-bit authoritarians. Removing NU from my will this week.

This is so fucking sad. The world’s richest man spent a fortune to create a robot to bathe him in the specious praise he so obviously needs. He’s such a sociopath that the much cheaper option of hiring a Wormtongue or a JD Vance or a Mike Johnson just wouldn’t cut it.
oh my god i take it back, grok is amazing

Killing Bond at the end of the Craig era was a *favor* to these new writers. Now they’re free to start over and not have to pretend they’re connected to the older movies. They have sixty years of Bond villains they can reimagine and reintroduce.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

D&D fans, I’m told Cynda Callaway has passed away. Cynda was the production expert who worked with various printers and manufacturers to get D&D books and boxes on shelves, on time, through the 5E era and beyond. She was a genuine unsung hero and all of us fans owe her a lot. RIP. #dnd

/3 Notice also how thankfully Heritage accepts the gift that people like Ezra Klein give them: if you can frame bigotry as a “debate,” if it’s done in a friendly chat or a podcast or some other stylized forum, then it’s just uncouth and intolerant to call it out. Works out swell for bigots.

Whoa, that’s an interesting pairing.
“I Saw the TV Glow” writer-director Jane Schoenbrun is doing a series at Netflix based on Charles Burns’ “Black Hole” comics (which also have a long on-off history with movie adaptations). Details here.

there’s a subset of people who, if you point out something bad happening now, will basically reply “it was always like this and anyone who disagrees is just privileged.” it parades as savvy but nine times out of ten it’s just an ahistorical oversimplification.
"they've always been like this" is always a tempting savvy take but it is just not true that Republican staffers were 100 percent open Nazis back in 2004, or hell even 2014. they just weren't
there have been a lot of responses to this arguing that young Republicans were motivated by such feelings but didn't express them openly

and I think a crucial lesson of the Trump era is that there is great value in people not expressing these things openly! that's a big and decisive change!

Why the fuck Is Disney still trying to make TRON a thing? Why not THE BLACK HOLE or THE COMPUTER THAT WORE TENNIS SHOES? Straight talk: no one cares; no one has ever cared. It’s like CBS/Paramount announcing the Quinn-Martin cinematic universe. So embarrassing.

If the NFL offered a streaming service that was just Al Michaels calling or commenting on the weeks’ game while tripping balls, I’d subscribe immediately.
The audio on the Prime feed of the Giants-Eagles game is screwed up, slowing down and stuttering, which means it repeatedly sounds like Al Michaels is tripping balls.

This is amazing! Not just #88, but three additional issues. Congrats, Rick and crew.
My longtime (near lifelong) pal Rick Veitch announced this earlier today, OK for me to share now, here, with you.

It's real. It's happening. At long last.
