A reminder that Liam Ramos, the son of legal residents in Minnesota, is still being held in a Texas prison.

A five year old little boy - and America’s global reputation - now scarred for life.

A crunchy socialist and very busy friend of mine called me to talk how the world was seemingly ending, and the key thing he had noticed about Minnesota was the evil treatement of this poor child. An image that haunt and shame everyone responsible for decades to come.

FREE LIAM! NATURALISE LIAM!
Reminder that, as of the latest reports, Liam Ramos is still in prison in Texas - now for 5 days.

His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

Thank you @nationaltheatre.org.uk for a wonderful NT Live production of Hamlet in my local cinema. What an outstanding cast and brilliant direction that made everything make complete sense. Sensational.

The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

I'm seeing posters saying Starmer is clinging on as if he'd been party Leader and PM for over 10 years. He's not even been PM for 2 years, he took the party from zero to number 10 in just over 4 years. Perspective is missing from many posters who seem to have slept through the Tory years.

What will it take for genuine #ClimateAction? Why risk an epic, planet sized disaster? We say we're smart. It's telling we don't say we're wise. This "heatwave is also notable ... seven to eight consecutive days above 40°C ... the longest stretch since the 1930s in parts of NSW." 💔 🇦🇺 🌏 🔥 #HeatDome
'Heat dome' to shatter records as south-east soars to nearly 50C
A record heatwave across south-east Australia will peak during the coming days, leading to extreme fire danger and temperatures close to 50 degrees Celsius in multiple states.

If you are bored of the media obsession over Andy Burnham, why not take a read about the progress our Labour government made this week in improving our country.

Third week of the year and third week of achieving so much!

Painted in 1913, Paul Nash gave this picture the ultimate simplicity of a title, 'A Drawing.' The elm trees marked the boundary of his family's home at Wood Lane House, Iver Heath in Buckinghamshire. Trees always held a spiritual quality for him.

They don't make playgrounds like they used to, mainly because launching a bunch of kids down a slide into what looks like girders probably stopped being fun after the first few times.

I once read a thread on sexism in international relations/spying where women were instructed to make wrong claims about X whenever they wanted to get secret information on X; a man would just disclose the key info by means of mansplaining

stop using AI to do your research. it hallucinates too often. if you want an answer to something, post something arrogant on the appropriate subreddit. something like: "this item performs 10% better than everything else. only idiots deny this." this will bait nerds into doing your research for you.

Starmer and Carney were in unity last week.

Both put their country first and both following the mantra:

‘Elbows up’

Proud of them both.
