It’s sad, but you’d be surprised how many:
- translation company managers she execs aren’t translators or bilingual
- video game managers or execs don’t play video games at all
- anime industry execs don’t watch anime

(and yes, this is very frustrating for everyone below them)

Like AIDS, perhaps. Or climate change. Or weapons of mass destruction. Or the Bay of Tonkin. Or the president’s health.
