Remember that when some electoral candidate is offering to cut your taxes.
Taxes are a way for all of us to get 'volume discounts' on health care/transportation systems/education/infrastructure.

I'm ALMOST ready to give up being ecologically careful.
I see too many nieces/nephews/40 yr olds do whatever the hell they want, flying here & there, thousands of dollars in debt b/c of their wants rather than needs, vacay homes, all the toys, why am I trying to save the environment for their kids?

And when she burns up millions on terrible procurements like the Tylenol debacle. 🤦

AND made sure there were bike lanes.
I 'get' why cyclists use sidewalks. But as pedestrians (one w poor mobility) it's taking one's life in their hands on some downtown sidewalks near home time.
Cyclists know dangerous streets w heavy vehicles and shld recognize cycle heft compared to skin/bones.

All of this. I read somewhere that if we taxed the wealthiest of us just 2% per year, all of that would be solved. They wouldn't even feel it, that's the most damnable part.

Homeless people are not the enemy.

They can’t “just try harder” their way into housing.

It’s the system that’s failing.

Most of us are one emergency away from being homeless ourselves.

We need affordable housing, universal basic income, healthcare & social supports.

We need a safety net

We're a ways from there, so when it's the hazelnut day ones, we'll buy multiple, freeze them, and thaw for mid-day treats every once in awhile.
Best priced sugary baked treats in the city when fresh. 😉

Have you noticed their 'twisters' on south wall, just west of the meat counter? Somewhat like twisted 'long johns'.
Sometimes they're a little stale but a few seconds in the microwave and they're almost fresh.
Daily fillings may be hazelnut, caramel, chocolate. Sometimes $0.50 each, sometimes $1.

We've avoided a number of the big streaming brands in North America.
But we'll keep an eye out for it in case we find it on Acorn or Britbox.

We missed their entire expansion it's been so long since we were there.
HUGE cheese area now. It's been hard finding reliable supplies of goat feta elsewhere.
Their coffee/treats with the sit down chairs/tables in the sunny window area might be great for winter.🌞❄️

We need multiple reasons to head that way - it's a fair drive. Have hardly been there since Chongo's quit making their hummus.
Missed corn season entirely this year.
We've reacquainted ourselves w European Market on 11th and that's served us pretty well for months.

It's because sport is an analogue of war, and war is "manly", therefore men gyrating against each other while shirtless and wet is a celebration of a manly victory. Whereas men doing the same thing because it's fun to do INSTEAD of war is "effeminate". We glorify war, and deride gay happiness.

North Americans will come back fr Europe exalting the time they had with relaxing walks, quiet times on streets in countries that have chosen to 'take back streets' fr loud vehicular traffic.

Then come back home, jump in the monster half ton and rev it to their next destination.

Think of all the witchy voodoo dolls about to be completed.

Still - I think of numbers of ppl we know from non-smoking households who've been diagnosed w lung cancer.
Maybe those earth basement rural homes that some of us lived in for years WERE problematic for radon.
Maybe urban homes too?
