For the Big Take podcast I joined Patrick Clark in a conversation with @sarahholder.bsky.social about corporate landlords — who they are, what they do, and why both the left and right have them in the crosshairs www.bloomberg.com/news/audio/2...

10s of thousands of parents and neighbors in my city and yours--many of them mostly apolitical--are doing this. Singling them out like this is going to polarize these populations against the regime even further.

I'm in @dwell.bsky.social writing about the IM Pei/Harry Weese collab that the kids (literal kindergarteners) LOVE. www.dwell.com/article/im-p...
These Midcentury Town Houses in Chicago Are More Desirable Than They’ve Ever Been
Units designed by I. M. Pei and Harry Weese still attract young families wanting to raise their kids in an urban environment.

ICE is now behaving in such a way that even Tucker Carlson’s favorite Holocaust minimizing, Hitler-apologist “historian” is like “hey now guys, this is getting a little out of hand.”

British colonial ideals were basically no different, just romanticised with the patina of history. It's always been about capital, narrowing culture, channeling to the homeland, theft & control.
There honestly cannot be a satire cutting enough to make fun of Americans. What the fuck do you mean the highest colonial ideal you could imagine was a parking lot with McDonald's on both sides

One of the top replies under an image on X of Renee Good's body slumped over in her car after an ICE agent shot her is another user asking Grok to put her body in a bikini. Grok then generated the image.

I've received many messages about this over the last two weeks — people still read, reference, and link to these stories WRITTEN BY REAL REPORTERS who knew their cities better than anyone else. I figured a fix might have been delayed due to holiday breaks but this needs to be remedied immediately!
The archives for the old Curbed city sites have been offline for at least two weeks. If these sites are gone for good, it’s not just a loss for those who contributed to Curbed over the years, but a loss of ~15 years of reporting on new development, neighborhoods, and architecture criticism.
