Nobody’s asking Zohran to single-handedly stop the flotilla. But if you want to be mayor of NYC, you don’t treat a global humanitarian crisis. with NYers involved, as background noise. Leadership is knowing when humanity matters more than campaign tactics.

Fair question. NYC holds more symbolic and political power than many countries on Earth. He could, at least, help mobilize people using his social media, as many less powerful politicians and activists are doing at this very moment in many parts of the globe. His sense of urgency seems off.
