The wealthy have intentionally destroyed class consciousness so that they can exploit the vast majority of people.

If we’re going to fight back and ultimately win this class war, it’s time we got familiar with how our politics actually work.

We do, people just don’t realize they’re part of it and they’re not being represented.

It feels like the political overton window has shifted far to the Right because the wealth class controls our media and owns our politicians.

Meanwhile, the vast, vast majority of people belong to what would now be portrayed as “the extreme Left.”

It’s a perception game and narrative control.

jysexton.bsky.social
Watching your team fall to it because of some random dingers and then ground ball after ground ball after ground ball is soul crushingly maddening.

jysexton.bsky.social
It’s important to realize that while the GOP went full fascist, there was a concerted, relentless, and obscenely well-funded campaign to pull the Dems to the Right.

They became the conservative party and the project isn’t even close to being finished.

jysexton.bsky.social
When stories start popping up in multiple outlets saying liberals are warming to MTG or Nick Fuentes, and they’re not, it’s probably a good thing to start asking why.

And then, remember that Bush Era Republicans and the Cheneys were embraced and then liberal think tanks got funded by the Koch’s.

jysexton.bsky.social
It’s almost like the post-war order and its institution were set up to legitimize and hide neo-colonialism and now that capitalism requires overt fascism there’s not even a need to hide it anymore.

jysexton.bsky.social
Just find it interesting that every neoliberal institution supposedly meant to “shepherd” and “protect” these countries while raiding their resources and economies aren’t so much as stepping in with America.

jysexton.bsky.social
I’m just waiting on all the Neoliberals who spent years communicating white supremacist smears about so-called second and third world countries not being able to sustain democracy or being susceptible to corruption to step up and apologize, but I’m not holding my breath.

jysexton.bsky.social
And now, to arrive at a crossroads where these unimaginative and untalented tech buffoons have run out of ideas after one failure after another and everything rides on their latest failure of an idea, one that will destabilize and wreck society, is just another gut punch.

I hate these fuckers.

jysexton.bsky.social
And it’s bad enough we have to deal with fascism, but having it driven by an incompetent idiot like Yarvin who basically can’t be bothered to do anything besides ramble about antidemocratic ideas he briefly read about on Wikipedia is infuriating.

It’s all shoddy and embarassing.

jysexton.bsky.social
Watching Thiel hold multiple hour lectures in which he tries and fails to weave together the incoherent bullshit someone has fed him to make him feel like a savior so he’ll donate millions to their projects is one of the most pathetic things I’ve ever seen. Truly, truly pathetic.

jysexton.bsky.social
The tech oligarchs thinks he’s brilliant because he walked into a casino rigged to let him win with every pull and is so narcissistic it never occurs to him that the entire system was shifted in their favor and so none of this was ever real or earned in the first place.

jysexton.bsky.social
The average tech oligarch has no reading comprehension, prattles on constantly about ideas that are half-baked, fails at practically everything that isn’t propped up by free money, and are so stupid they read plagiarized fascist ideology and fall in love because it’s just inflating their egos.

jysexton.bsky.social
These assholes aren’t messiahs or super-geniuses. They’re weirdos who were in the right place at the right time and were all ruthless enough to fuck everyone over they ever knew and shameless enough to build cults populated with other antidemocratic weirdos. It’s infuriating.

jysexton.bsky.social
It’s endlessly depressing watching all these tech oligarchs try and convince themselves they’re geniuses instead of people who just happened to benefit from capitalism requiring their products and then the entire political and banking system gassing them up with with free money and tireless support.

jysexton.bsky.social
And it's almost like what we're experiencing with capitalism requiring fascism to continue its consolidation of wealth in the face of breakdown is something we've seen over and over again and that the wealthy's insistence on repeating patterns has brought us to the brink again.

jysexton.bsky.social
I don’t know, maybe not a good thing that consumer spending is being completely driven by a billionaire class, jobs are being shed at breakneck speed, and the entire economy is resting on a historically large and precarious bubble.

It’s almost like capitalism is inherently self-destructive.

jysexton.bsky.social
It was inevitable that, without needed change and reform, the War on Terror would swing back to America

It’s the march of capitalism and its reliance on hidden and then overt authoritarianism. We can see where this is going by looking at what we did to others, and so we must band together with them

jysexton.bsky.social
It’s fun and not at all disturbing that the fascists and tech oligarchs who control this country are all absolutely marinated and cooked in brain rotting conspiracy theories and pseudo-ideological drivel.

jysexton.bsky.social
As I said in the article, unless we do something to address intentional scarcity and declining conditions, we may very well look back on the Trump/MAGA era as the precursor to something much more dangerous and destructive.

We have work to do. A lot of work.

jysexton.bsky.social
The schism within MAGA is an opportunity, but it will only help openly fascist movements and projects unless we fight to change our status quo, which helped create this problem in the first place.

Failing to do that likely means something even worse after Trump.

jysexton.bsky.social
We’ve seen how this has been solved in the past. America’s fascist movements were stopped when a political movement began addressing the material conditions that fueled the radicalization.

Choosing to just hope these disenchanted supporters vote Democratic gets us nowhere.

jysexton.bsky.social
Add in tech tools that increasingly pipeline Right to Far Right ideas, and that they’re controlled by oligarchs who openly disdain democracy and human dignity, the odds of ex-MAGA supporters moving toward fascist opinions and projects is increasingly likely.

jysexton.bsky.social
There’s always been a ton of contradictions in MAGA, including religious zealots who live in cultish adoration and those who see Trump as a useful idiot.

The former group includes fascistic tech oligarchs and fascist groups that want to go well beyond liberal democracy and Trump himself.

jysexton.bsky.social
It’s not a coincidence that growing schisms in MAGA are coinciding with the growth in popularity of Far Right personalities and communities that are explicitly fascistic.

The anger that animates MAGA is shifting toward more overtly antidemocratic and authoritarian sources.

jysexton.bsky.social
It’s true that some MAGA supporters are losing faith in Trump and expressing frustration. But evidence and trends suggest they’re flocking to explicit Fascists and growing more radicalized.

We can’t just sit back and hope. We have to fight.

You cannot reason with a fascist. You can’t endear yourself to a fascist. They will turn on everyone, including their own family, their allies, their sycophants and collaborators.

Fascists hate themselves and they hate the world. This doesn’t stop unless it is stopped.

jysexton.bsky.social
Framing it as Trump simply going after his political enemies is misleading because to a fascist every other living person is their political enemy.

You’re his political enemy. You just haven’t been identified yet.
