Probably. But where were the editors here? This paper should never have got through the most basic screening. As an editor myself, I would never have allowed any paper with such obviously generated nonsense to be sent out for review.

They can blame the reviewers (and they should have noticed). But this doesn't let the editors off the hook. A decent editorial process would have triaged it out and desk-rejected anything with such an obviously nonsensical figure. It should never even have been sent out for review.
The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

Some other apparently equally ill-informed people who think the same thing about Carney and Harper...
