If you haven’t read this book, go read it. Seriously.

(And then you can listen to us talk about it with Premee, if you want—but go read the book! www.fictionfanspodcast.com/post/author-...)

I don't want to promote myself.
The founder of this chat and my co-host is in hospital, so he can't be here tonight, and huge thanks to Gree for stepping in at short notice.
But he writes such lovely ghost stories. Some of them are short, and cheap. If you could snag his books, it would help no end.

Concluding? Oh please! The Phantasmal Symposium’s work is eternal, as is the thirst for alive souls! We are simply twirling away elsewhere…

Now is your time to join us! What do you write? In what crypts can we peruse it? What more do you have to share?

#HorrorWritersChat
Art by Jelle Husson, featuring a haunted monastery of many sharp-tipped towers scraping at the midnight sky. The largest is in the centre of the structure’s roof, whose walls are painted white. The monastery is located above a hilly terrain of dark stone and dark green moss. A stony, twisting road leads to the monastery.

The Orchestra Has Performed Their Final Piece!
The Symposium hopes you enjoyed our ghastly arrangement in this music hall! There is no algorithm here – visibility is reliant on your engagement.

Have you answered the questions? Do you have something to share? Promote below, and share each others’ posts!

The orchestra shall resume its operations… next week.

My collection, out on Halloween, the day the veil is thinnest! Just one quote from a reviewer: "It’s like cracking open a book and landing in a drive in theater on 80s horror night!"

Meet me at the drive-in. Be there or be devoured by the ghosts of Samhain. 🎃

For promo, I'll stick with ghosts and go with my debut novella, A Survivor's Eye.

Imagine a haunted house but with the ghosts in your thoughts, threatening to take control.

Promo image for A Survivor's Eye depicting the cover (a pale and haunted face, bleached of humanity, drowning in a sea of smoke. Two desperate handprints pressed against the whites of their eyes, trying to escape), on a tablet which itself hovers above thick blue smoke. The accompanying text reads; "There's more to life than survival. Available now"

Gree has done an excellent job hosting #HorrorWritersChat. As for me, I got a couple things to promote, both pertaining to The #ShadowBoxArchives. The first is that my featured story for September has just gone public. It's about a couple teens who think

They do! 😂

I had a step uncle in PA that was a groundskeeper & he said the worst time of the year was rainy season. The graves always shifted. That information lives rent free.

... and turn, shaking the rain from your brow. You watch, slack mouthed, as the caskets rise from the earth & begin to slide down the hill. You toss up your hands & swear to God. Keeping the bodies from a mudslide was never covered as part of your priestly duties.

Come forth, Baron Crescendo! Let your guitar split the sky open, for more wraiths to dazzle us!

Behold, a note from him, for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Finish it! With word of rhyme, before we dance to the end!

Question Four

There he is! Baron Crescendo! Oh how the skies split open to his guitar, how more of us fly in the air! And look, a note from him, just for you!

“The moment you entered the graveyard, the scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears.”

Well? Go on! Word or rhyme, continue his Muse!

I love that! Is it inspired from personal experience?
abigailtaylor.bsky.social
I love folklore! From La Mano Peluda & La Lechuza to tailypo & the ghostly hitchhiker... They hold a wealth of traditional storytelling & knowledge that bridges cultures. Plus there often is no origin. These haunts exist because they are. I find that terrifying!

Listen to the Symposium’s finest vocalist, as their tenor bends the living into unnatural angles and swivels them into the air! Tell us, what ghosts do you prefer? Of the folkloric tradition, or those invented by authors? And why?

The monastery is located above a hilly terrain of dark stone and dark green moss. A stony, twisting road leads to the monastery.

It is always a delight to see our violinists perform! How the living bend their splintering bones as they float above us all! Tell us, our ghostly compatriots – which of us are better? Of the folkloric kind? Or invented by our shadowy creators?

Ghosts & haints exist wherever they're imprinted. It could be a graveyard or a lake or an abandoned house. Although my favorite haunting are the foresty ones & the unexpected ones, I do have a soft spot for orphanages. Perhaps because my grandmother was raised in one...
#HorrorWritersChat
A picture I took of the Woodman circle home, where my maternal grandmother & her brothers lived. She was there from the age of 3 to 18, when she got married. Her ceremony was in the house as well.

Trick - his father is stubborn (also on a terrorist watch list) & his mother is not being honest with her intentions.

Thorton - she's a body builder & stuntman in the 1950s. People don't like when someone breaks the mold. Or they're too enthusiastic & make situations worse.
