I thought Handmaids Tale nailed it. The middle part of the last season almost made me quit but the last 3 episodes and the last one especially acknowledged the journey we had all been on along with June.
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

there are endless headlines about "grok apologizes" or "grok says it will be fixed" after it generated CSAM using pictures of minors and zero headlines about "grok being shut down" or "musk and xAI in big legal trouble" and I think something fundamental has broken here

Painting of the Day. Prayer V
> > www.artcameroon.com/prayer-5-chr...
This beautiful and serene painting by Angu Walters is of a devout Christian woman praying. The painting is done in shades of acrylic blue and red, and the woman's expression is one of deep faith and devotion.

The game is to get people to believe that ChatGPT is trustworthy and has the answer to everything, embed it everywhere, then doctor the corpus to provide only the answers those with money want people to see, hear, and believe.

This is not exaggeration. See Grok.

So I probably won’t be up at midnight, didn’t sleep till around 5 this morning. Therefore I wish all a happy new year and hope 2026 can at the least be an improvement on the shit show 2025 has been for many.

There is something wonderful going on in #Pluribus on #Appletv. It’s under the surface and it’s dealing with a lot of fundamentals relating to what it is to be human and what it is to be yourself. It never states what is going on but it’s there all the same. Love it.

Easy one for me Stephen Donaldson’s Gap Cycle or his Thomas Covenant books.
OK, less contentious post:

You've been placed in charge of a movie studio, and have an unlimited budget to adapt any work of your choosing that has never been made into a live-action TV series or film. What are you picking?

For me: PC Hodgell's Kencyrath Cycle and there's no close second

My attitude as I got older is precisely this.
The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.
